Very sad news, indeed. Cloris Leachman was a titan, a woman whose talent knew no end. She made us laugh, she made us cry, and in the process she showed us so much about the human condition. She won an Oscar for her heartbreaking performance in The Last Picture Show and received 20 Emmy nominations, winning eight, including one for her brilliant performance in the Afterschool Special, The Woman Who Willed a Miracle, one of the most viewed and beloved of all time.
She was a wonderful actress with a beautiful spirit. Rest in peace, dear Cloris. I will cherish you forever.

Oh, another giant is gone! The woman who broke so many barriers, gave so many amazing performances, and enlightened the human spirit with her loving and courageous heart. What a sad loss this is.
Among the many in her long and outstanding career, I'll never forget her ground-breaking performances in Sounder, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, and Roots.
Rest in peace, Cicely Tyson. You will be remembered as long as films are made.
