Wait, are you joking, or did they actually cast Marisa Tomei as Aunt May?! This movie is going to suck harder than I thought if that's true... You're a little late. She played Aunt May in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. "Whoops."

I can't speak to "Sexy" but she certainly shouldn't be an old woman like she has been in the comics and other media for decades.
Peter is a teenager...his aunt should be in her 50's max. Hell, she could have been a younger sister and been in her 30's.
Worst case (yet still realistic) scenario, we say his parents had him when they were in their 30's, and May was 10 years older than her sister...That puts her at worst in her early 60's. But given when she was created, people were having children younger, so they were probably in their 20's when they had Peter, and May was probably only a year or two older than her sister.
Realistically she would only be 45ish.

I have absolutely no idea why anybody thinks an aunt has to be old. No clue.
I absolutely love the hot aunt May idea. It was brilliant. It's a dumb idea if in the movie, Aunt May does nothing but spend all day sitting at home. Because what kind of hot, single woman would spend all day sitting at home when she could get plenty of dates? Who to say she's not dating? Also she's probably working to support her and her nephew.

I don't think she's right for the role but am unsurprised that she personally turned in a great performance. She is a great actress, if I'm not mistaken an Oscar winner.

Blah, blah, blah, crybaby bullshit. She is a great actress, if I'm not mistaken an Oscar winner. Marisa Tomei was only awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1993 because Oscar presenter Jack Palance read the wrong name by mistake.

How about the thousands of combined years of real life aunts not being old women when their nephew is in high school. What a stupid reply. Aunt May is that age because she was written that way. Any other person, real or not, has nothing to do with it. How about the billions of real life teenagers not having Spider powers, moron. Stupid reply? I'm talking about depicting a high school kids aunt. What's the problem with updating her from the comics? Don't get upset about it, I'm just wondering why you would prefer some old woman to aunt hottie. Is aunt may really the character that needs to be comic accurate?

As we know from the Oscars this year, the card has only the name of the winner on it, and the other names are on the teleprompter.

If we "know" anything from this year, it's that the wrong name can (and will) be read. It basically proves the Tomei thing could (and did) happen.

If we "know" anything from this year, it's that the wrong name can (and will) be read. It basically proves the Tomei thing could (and did) happen. This year showed that the Oscar "Winner" cards have one thing written on them...the name of the winner. The mistake happened because they got the wrong card. The Urban Legend goes that Palance misread the teleprompter and accidentally read the last name on the list, which was Tomei. But the name of the winner is on the card, and would be the only thing on the card. Also, if this were the case, the Academy would have rectified the situation with, at worst, some sort of press release net next day. She won fair and square. Debate the merits if you want, but she won. The other actresses were nominated for extremely low box office performers, and as much as people don't like to believe it, that plays a part. Snopes, Gawker, The Telegraph

So, what you are saying is, you have exactly zero proof that it didn't happen?
Got it.

Speaking of, why WERE Aunt May and Uncle Ben so old, anyway? I mean, I know some siblings have big age gaps. My mom is 15 years her younger sister's elder, but it isn't really THAT common.
