What does one have to do with the other? Sorry, but you got to do a little better, counselor. Is Tree frogs right? Are you really this full of shit, or do you have something better to offer than the "wearing shoes and shirt at a 7-11" argument? I have noticed that a few of my vaccinated friends seem to be a bit dumber these days, perhaps a bit numb on the top. Hope this isn't happening to you, but based on some of your recent posts that I've seen, I can't help but be concerned. Just a question, why so hostile? Frankly, the arguments you're making about having your freedoms suppressed are the same ones that people made when shoes and shirts became a thing, and when seatbelts became a thing. So I ask you, do you consider wearing shoes inside a restaurant to be infringing upon your rights? You can't answer a simple question? You have to resort to ad hominem attacks? Thank you for your concern, I'm good though. And you equate wearing shoes and a shirt with wearing a mask? Uhhh no, I don't think that wearing shoes and a shirt is infringing on my rights. Very important that I answered that question, so there you go. So I answered a question for you, how bout you answering one for me. Do you really think that we should devolve into a two-class system because of a virus that has a 98.9% survival rate?

Very important that I answered that question, so there you go. So I answered a question for you, how bout you answering one for me. Do you really think that we should devolve into a two-class system because of a virus that has a 98.9% survival rate? Well, I'm not equating them, but the people who are saying that wearing a mask infringes upon their rights, and equating mask mandates with something the Nazis did, are echoing the same exact things that people said when "no shirt, no shoes, no service" became a thing. There is no law that says you have to wear a shirt to eat inside a restaurant. Regarding the "two-class system", go take a look at hospital ICUs all over the world where this is having an impact. People are taking medical advice from Marjorie Taylor Greene and not doctors. And even with a high survival rate, people are having long-lasting organ issues, are highly contagious to others, and overall, the problem isn't getting any better; in fact, it's worsening. With hundreds of thousands of people dying, and with growing numbers all over the world, I don't see why wearing a mask is such a problem for people. If people don't want to take the vaccine, fine, but businesses and municipalities have every right to impose mandates and vaccine/mask requirements if they feel it is appropriate. If people don't want the vaccine, then they can skip the concerts and dining out until the problem gets better. But hanging your hat on the survival rate completely ignores the absolute chaos that is going on in hospitals all over the place. Just ask a doctor. Or an ICU nurse. As for the "experimental" vaccine, I mean, do you eat organic food? If I handed you a joint right now, would you graciously take it without questioning what was in it? I get the argument that people are worried about long-term effects because they don't know, I really do. It's a fair argument in and of itself....but when the same people turn around and eat a hamburger from the local tavern and wash it down with a mountain dew, then I question whether that argument is genuine. And now I have answered your question, without attacking you. I would expect the same courtesy in response. Wanna talk about great shows you've been to? Or even terrible shows?

I’m not gonna bother addressing the vaccine aspects of your post but if you don’t want to get banned from websites such as this one maybe don’t repeatedly say “fuck you, pussy” to the admin. Not saying it doesn’t mean you’re selling out or love Joe Biden or anything. Give it a try. I only said "fuck you" after I was told to "piss off" after I offered to "smoke a peace pipe" with the guy. How would you have reacted? Because I've seen YOU tell others here to "fuck off" before, so I'm not sure what's the difference. Matter of fact, you have told me to "fuck off" a couple of times on Sunday NFL threads when I've razzed you during Eagles losses. What's the difference, big guy? Do you think I should be punished while you're not for doing the exact same thing? Yes, I have told people here to fuck off. Probably including yourself though I don’t specifically remember - I’ll take your word for it. How would I have reacted? I probably wouldn’t have said “fuck you pussy” to someone with the ability to ban me here. Much like I wouldn’t say “fuck you pussy” to a cop that pulls me over for speeding or to my boss if I don’t like something he says. So yeah, big guy, that’s how I’d have reacted in that situation. You do know that freedom comes with responsibilities right? Living in America doesn’t mean you can just do whatever the fuck you want right? With freedom comes responsibilities to the community, to others. I know you understand that. You don’t want to get a vaccine or wear a mask? That certainly is your right. But it’s also employers’ rights and businesses’ rights to say “No vaccine, no mask, no service.” But again, you know this.

If a vaccinated person and an unvaccinated person both get shot in a "peaceful protest", should the vaccinated person get medical treatment before the unvaccinated?

Does Broadway Show count as concert? Absolutely! When I was a kid, I used to go all the time but it has been years. I tried to get tickets to Hamilton but couldn't do it.

Well as it stands today, if two people get shot the first responders have no idea which, if any, of the victims are vaccinated. How would they? No one I know carries that card with them and even if they did, the first responders are still masked anyway. So that example is dumb. Does an unvaccinated person have the right to buy groceries at a store? Yes, if they do the simple, so easy task of putting a goddamned mask on while shopping. Don’t want to do that? There are a number of online options. Don’t have the internet or a smart phone? Then you probably have bigger issues in life. Not every stance in the world is oppression. Come down off your cross and join us in the real world.

If me having legitimate concerns about a two-tiered class society becoming a thing because of vaccinations is the equivalent of "being on the cross" to you, then you really do have a much more warped view of the world than I originally thought. Sorry for asking questions, I know in your world we should all just bow down and accept whatever the government, or in your case one side of the government, says as the Gospel truth, but some of us are a bit more free thinking in our approach.

I don't go to big venues anymore. I haven't for a real long time. I went to one "festival" in my life and gave that up right afterwards. It was anything but festive. But even things I had no problem with when I was younger like, for instance, the Hollywood Palladium, I can't stand anymore. It was always a sweat box and there was nothing quite like sharing that with a couple thousand of your new best friends.
I stick to small venues that have both large and upcoming acts I like. My two favorite places these days seem to be The Belly Up in Solano Beach, not far from San Diego and The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.
Buddy Guy is playing the Belly Up in October I believe but I think that one is already sold out even though they're charging an arm and a leg. John Hiatt and Midge Ure are at the Coach House in October/November but I'm not sure about those two yet. Blues Man Coco Montoya is at the Coach House in November, I'm sure there will be tickets at the walk up for that and I'd probably enjoy that one the most too.
Coco Montoya, live at the Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton, with "Love Jail."

Either way, you seem a bit off your game, fella. Why don't you sit a few plays out.....

I saw Buddy Guy headline a Hendrix tribute show here in Santa Cruz about 5 years ago. There were a lot of very good guitar players there, and Buddy Guy blew them out of the water. Very impressive.

Coco Montoya, live at the Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton, with "Love Jail." I saw Buddy Guy once at Jazz Fest, he was AWESOME. One of the best guitar players I've ever seen in person, never saw SRV though. He's my #1. I hear you on festivals, they're not for everyone. It's a lot, and they're exhausting, and not all of them are run that well. I've been to Coachella a bunch of times, that's the gold standard. It's efficient, the sound is (almost) always spot on, and they do a great job with concessions and cleaning up the venue. Governors Ball, some years its great and other years it's just a clusterfuck. Jazz Fest is a mixed bag. You get more variety there than you do at other festivals, and they have the gospel tent and blues tent. The gospel tent is simply phenomenal and I'm not remotely religious. The singers always bring it and the crowd is always responsive. Great vibes all around. Which festival did you go to? I'm very interested in going to Outside Lands and Sasquatch. There's also Boston Calling that has had great lineups in years past, but it's during Memorial Day weekend and I prefer to hang out at various friends' parties during that weekend.

Okay, thanks for your input. Any other forms of segregation you're fine with, or is it just this?

If you say you are not taking the vaccine because it is experimental (although that excuse is no longer valid with Pfizer today), I'll believe you. But it's disingenuous to think that there aren't plenty of Republicans who aren't taking the vaccine for completely different reasons. The stats are pretty clear, though - - COVID kills way more people than the COVID vaccine does.

Anyone who is okay with other human beings being denied basic shit like trips to a grocery store because they have issues with vaccinations is a total pinhead to me. I don't care who you vote for, if you're into that kind of society, then buzz off. Lots of Americans have died from Covid, about 650,000. That's a huge number. Of course, over 33,000,000 Americans have survived Covid. That's an even bigger number, isn't it? Forgive me, but none of this seems anything remotely apocalyptic enough to shake up our culture like this. And I'm incredibly shocked that no one here seems to agree with me on this.
