Anywayโฆ Has anyone been to Red Rocks in Denver, aka the best venue in the US? I haven't. I also haven't been to a stadium/amphitheater concert in the 21st century. I'm pretty sure that every concert I've been to in the last twenty years (and I've been to a lot) has been in a 500 person or fewer venue.

Took my buddy to see Jimmy Buffet two weeks ago as I had an extra ticket. We tailgated for about 9 hours in the parking lot. During the show we hung out in the VIP tent for a while until my buddy bailed - he said he had to go watch the Mets.

He spent most of the time talking about law and sushi.

Well, I know what your politics are.ย If you say you are not taking the vaccine because it is experimental (although that excuse is no longer valid with Pfizer today), I'll believe you.ย But it's disingenuous to think that there aren't plenty of Republicans who aren't taking the vaccine for completely different reasons. The stats are pretty clear, though - - COVID kills way more people than the COVID vaccine does. Anyone who is okay with other human beings being denied basic shit like trips to a grocery store because they have issues with vaccinations is a total pinhead to me. I don't care who you vote for, if you're into that kind of society, then buzz off. Lots of Americans have died from Covid, about 650,000. That's a huge number. Of course, over 33,000,000 Americans have survived Covid. That's an even bigger number, isn't it? Forgive me, but none of this seems anything remotely apocalyptic enough to shake up our culture like this. And I'm incredibly shocked that no one here seems to agree with me on this. I do, to a very limited extent. I got vaccinated as soon as the possibility was open to me, and I don't disagree with the principle of requiring proof of vaccination for international travel or attending large gatherings, going to the gym or even to the movies, but I don't like the idea of banning non-vaccinated people from going to restaurants or grocery stores or taking public transportation. That would be going too far in my opinion.

If it is the place I am thinking of, I just went there to have a look around on a Sunday afternoon. Yeah, there's a park attached to it and you can hike around, it's stunning. I only went once, during a bachelor party a handful of years ago, we just grabbed tickets to whatever was playing. Headliner was a band called Papadosio, they sucked, but the opener was this band called Sunsquabi and they were kinda awesome. They have this weird, synth/electronic funk sound and it was a lot of fun. That venue is something every music lover should experience. The scenery, the layout of the venue, and the sound are all simply perfection. On beautiful Colorado nights, it can't be beat. When I ultimately move out there, I'll definitely be attending a bunch of shows.

Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones has died at the age of 80. RIP. When you compare a band like the Stones with a band like the Ramones, it's impressive how long the post-Brian Jones lineup has been able to make it. RIP.

Depending on who's story you buy, Watts was one of the original member of the band, with Brian Jones and Ian Stewart. Jagger and Richards said those three joined their band, Stewart said the opposite. The coolest man in Rock history.Seen the Stones eight times. He wasn't going to tour with the band in their upcoming tour. I'm wondering if this is it. They went on without Bill Wyman but Wyman quit.

Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones has died at the age of 80. RIP. Does it reflect very poorly on me as a music lover that I canโt remember if I saw the Stones twice and U2 once, or the Stones once and U2 twice?

Does it reflect very poorly on me as a music lover that I canโt remember if I saw the Stones twice and U2 once, or the Stones once and U2 twice? It just means you had a great time at all 3 shows!! Sadly, I haven't seen either the Stones or U2. I had tickets to see the Stones in 2019 but the initial date was canceled after Mick Jagger had his heart attack, and the makeup date was the same night as Chemical Brothers, who are a personal favorite and who I hadn't seen in over 10 years. If they come back around, I'd definitely go see them. U2, I'm not a huge fan, but I bet they put on a great show and would love to check them out.

I donโt care much for live music, but I did see Phish at the Gorge amphitheater in Washington about 10 years ago. I only went cause a friend coerced me into going. I donโt care for Phish and generally hate jam bands, but they put on a hell of a show, and the Gorge is a great venue. Also, we stole three zip-lock baggies full of weed from some other attendees. Good times.

Don McLean at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. must have been well over twenty years ago.
He was very good, but Iโd have preferred to hear him without a backing band.

Good times. That's where Sasquatch Festival was always held. I just learned that the festival was canceled in 2019 and they won't have it again. I hope they revive it, that looks like such a great venue.
