Again, so far out of my wheelhouse, it’s difficult to judge on a single listen, but great to hear these niche picks.

Again, so far out of my wheelhouse, it’s difficult to judge on a single listen, but great to hear these niche picks. By mere coincidence, the first song in each of these threads is going to be "more accessible" than the others. I can understand if "Winds of Sin" is too intense for you, but hopefully you'll enjoy "Evil Is Forever".

So Astral Doors are a Scandinavian metal band, from Borlange in regional powerhouse, Sweden. 'Evil Is Forever' certainly lives up to its title as the lyrics draw a downbeat picture of humanity.
And Kiuas are northern European too, from Espoo in Finland. The Finns are cousins with the Hungarians. Looking at the album details, which are also from 2005. The two songs go together well. This one has that kick drum sound driving it. One thing I admire about metal drummers in general is how good they are with their feet.
Nightmare is my favourite though, I genuinely love this hardcore sonic assault. I never heard of this band before but see they're from Grenoble in France. It's a dangerous city. Everybody thinks of the crime capital of the south, Marseilles, but there's a ton of criminal activity that emanates from Grenoble. It's also a city known for scientific advancement and engineering. Great city, great music, and I'm definitely keen to hear more music from Nightmare. This song has so many shifts and changes, it's like a pocket symphony.

Sorry, but I somehow missed your post until now. Yes, both Sweden and Finland are well represented in my music collection, with each country having a double digit album count. As you can see in the table below, Sweden is #4 and Finland is #6. Germany is #2, not that far behind the U.S.. I only have six albums from bands based in France, and Nightmare provided two of them! Origin | CountOfAlbum | U.S. | 95 | Germany | 66 | U.K. | 30 | Sweden | 24 | Canada | 14 | Finland | 14 |

Nice work by Nightmare. I'll be devouring your top 3 tomorrow when I can relax with a glass of the bubbly, at least that's the plan! I want to listen to the latest entries from Doctor Fox's Snow & Meryl Streep Sucks too. Oh yes.
