Spotty. Its not clear where things are headed anymore. Not that it needs infinity gems in every after credit scene, but it should still seem to have a goal of some kind. Its what we expect from them now. For example, are the newer character going to unite as Avengers? Or is this notion of "multiverse" just going to allow them to "do whatever they want"? You forget that Iron Man basically started it off with the characters all meet up to become avengers. The infinity stones didn’t come in until phase 2. So yes at some point they probably do become “the next Avengers”. I’m still curious to know who the big baddie is gonna be though. I just hope it won’t be Thanos again.

So far, only Shang-Chi felt like it belonged to the MCU of old. Everything else feels sub-par. WandaVision had promise and I actually enjoyed it at first, then it just kind of fell apart at the end. Falcon & Winter Soldier, What If, Black Widow and especially Loki were all very big disappointments for me. Seems like Eternals might be following in the same vein if the reviews are any accurate.
Then I'm looking at all the future projects and I have to admit Dr. Strange and Thor are the only two franchises left that give me hope.

Sam Wilson will face his greatest foe yet....the Hate-monger! (and yes that's canon) Perfect antagonist for the current political climate! Is he?

I think it’s supposed to be Kang the Conqueror, as played by Jonathan Majors.
