The level of racism is way less.
We already have the political discussions here and way more other things to discuss.
Higher proportion of OT topics for more fun.
Average intelligence of posters at RFS is better than average intelligence of posters at politics board.
The politics board is mostly Republicans vs Democrats but on RFS you have people like Merv, Superdude, Aj_June, gadreel, cupcakes, cash et al. who can't be categorised into any particular category.

More than the Politics board, or more than the RFS board at IMDb?
I think that this is holding up better than expected, actually. Although the problem that I have with it is that it is basically an atheist echo chamber. There are hardly any theists here, and most of the theists who do post here are quite laid back about defending their religion. And the only theists that we do have are Christians, and maybe one or two 'miscellaneous'.

I meant to compare to the politics board of this website. The politics board is many times more active but seems to be an eternal circle jerk of democrats and republicans. Most of those posters have fixed opinions and keep talking the same thing over and over.
The atheists on this website are in a majority but it was not much different on IMDB. We still have plenty of theists though many of them are relatively quiet people like londonbird, gadreel and allaby.

I enjoy mixing in with the Crips and the Bloods in the politics board.
They're so hilarious, their worldviews are so distorted and negative and full of fear that it makes me chuckle with glee that I'm not caught up in the drama.

The absurd levels some Trump Supporters will go to defend him is incredible. Reality doesn't seem to penetrate the protective bubble they've encased themselves in. |
