Patrick Ewing out at Georgetown. 75-109, not good. The Big East tournament win in 2021 the only high point.

Virginia beats UNC, meaning the Tar Heels are likely out of March Madness. Wow, one of the most disappointing seasons I can ever remember from a CBB team.
Penn St beat Illinois, Nittany Lions are right on the bubble as well and this win might get them into the tourney.

Everyone on the team has to take accountability, but Hubert Davis looks like a clown right now. It's your job as a head coach to get these kids tuned in for every game. They were so inconsistent all year long, the second half of this game was a microcosm of their season. No structure on offense, no commitment on defense, every possession was terrible down the stretch when they were actually within striking distance. It looked like they didn't have a coach and it was every man for himself out there. Ugly stuff for a preseason #1, and now their season is over.

One quality win all year, beating Virginia on the road. Would it surprise be if they snuck in, hell no. One quality win but no bad losses. And they are the University of North Carolina. A rare CBB team that has a national following. How many other schools have that? Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and I'm at a loss to name another. Georgetown, UCLA, UNLV, Indiana at one time but not anymore. A national following means huge TV ratings.
They did not have a good regular season last year but caught fire down the stretch. Only an eight seed but had a great run in the NCAA. Is the real Hubert Davis the one that bumbled through most of last year and all of this year? And Hubie better get his shit together soon. Carolina has a short fuse for head coaches. Matt Doherty, another great player from the past who took over the big chair, got ran out of Chapel Hill after only three seasons.

In a way, we do have a 363 team tournament. The conference tournaments can be seen as play in's. Every D1 team has a chance to make the Big Dance (well, I think there's still a couple independents). Of course, it's not one big bracket. We are robbed on the joy of seeing 29-2 Houston playing 1-26 Long Island University (now THAT would be an upset. Fuck UMBC) but it would take hours to fill out a bracket.

Please stop with the expansion. Unlike college football, every conference is represented in the playoffs already. If you had a good season, you're probably getting into the tourney. If you had an average season, it's a crapshoot, as it should be.

If you had an average season, it's a crapshoot, as it should be. Exactly! If it isn't broke, don't fix it. The tournament works perfectly as it. I can remember the NCAA in the 70's. There was no "brackets" as there is now where you can forecast the tournament from start to finish. Hell, there was NCAA tournament games being played before the big conferences were finished with their conference tournaments. The smaller schools would knock each other off then have to wait to see what ACC, PAC, SEC, SWC team they would have to face. The 64 team tournament was a stroke of genius. I don't even like those four dopey "play-in games". Leave it be.

What's the rationale re having 2 games playing to be a 16 facing a 1 and 2 games to be an 11 facing a 6? Are the 11s from majors and the 16s not? Also weird that 2 6-seeds play a play-in winner and 2 play a normal 11 seed.

Michigan State loses to the #13 team in the Big 10, Ohio State. Spartans were 12-4, now 19-11. Probably was robbed of a 20th win when they lost a game due to the shooting (it was against 9-22 Minnesota). Izzo's last three seasons have nor been all that impressive.
Yet another coach falls. Josh Pastner is gone at Georgia Tech. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown
