I actually probably would not have participated at all in this discussion, except for the fact that somebody involved me by tagging me & posting to me. But you did participate. You agree with the OP that LGBT people are 'broken'. Too late to row back and pretend to be reasonable now. You've made your bed, lie in it. Own your prejudice. It's on display in this thread for everyone to see. I have the option of pressing "like" on anything I choose.

Correction, you use that option to show how you cherry pick the church teachings which happen to conveniently match your irrational and disgusting bigotry and ignore those which are inconvenient.

No, I used the option to show that I believe Church teaching. You are a homophobe. A bigot. "Chastity and homosexuality 2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,140 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."141 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved. 2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. 2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection." Let everyone here, bear witness that Fr Jack accuses his own Church of homophobia & bigotry. Chastity & Homosexuality, According to the Catechism of the Cathoilic Church

Please point out what I have said that is disgusting bigotry & ignore those which are inconvenient, thank you. Rather, Fr Jack is the one who is going against Catholic (genuine Christian) teaching.

Oh, now this is getting good. I'm gonna break out the popcorn and just sit back. Few things are more entertaining than watching Christians play the religious version of 'No True Scotsman' amongst themselves. My money on Fr. Jack. Sorry, Clu .

You're just not very bright so this is going to go right over your little head, cupcake, but the very act of liking a bigoted post and then retreating to your religion in defense of that bigotry constitute speech acts indicating where your intentions and views lie. And I'm 100% certain that during your entire life, you've ignored all the various other silly rules and restrictions in your holy book, assuming you're even educated enough in your own religion to know that they exist or what they are.
Father Jack, unlike you, does what all honorable and moral Christians do--he embraces the parts of his religion which encourage love and acceptance and ignores the vile, stupid stuff that came from a primitive culture that existed thousands of yeas ago. He's a better Christian than you'll ever be.

I've watched the video in djorno's post. There was nothing offensive in it, except in the minds of people have their heads shoved all the way up their butts. Nowhere in it, does it attack people same-sex attraction. It does not promote any kind of violence, abuse, or discrimination against them in any kind of way. However, at the same time it doesn't lie either. There is a reason why there are 2 sexes. Male & Female: To procreate. And it is not just humans, it is exactly the same with practically every other living thing in the world as well. Even PLANTS are male & female, for exactly the same reason. It doesn't matter that there are animals that have done homosexual acts. It matters that it is still through the male & female of each & every species that life is re-produced. No, Fr Jack does not do what honourable & moral Christians do. He is what is known as a "cafeteria catholic." Picking what he likes, & rejecting what he doesn't like. That is neither honourable or moral.

That is neither honourable or moral. And you are what would be called in my Pope Francis loyal Roman Catholic Parish and Diocese, a southern baptist church evangelical fundo crank. Don't you regularly attend protestant services, rather than Catholic Mass? That is you isn't it? So don't sanctimoniously and self righteously lecture me on what a Catholic is or isn't... Like you judging who is and isn't a sinner, and who is and isn't an honourable and moral Christian, it's not your place to do so. PS... Your saying that even plants are male and female is incorrect. That doesn't hold true for all fauna, much less so with flora... Your ignorance is showing. Nope. I attend Holy Mass each & every Sunday my friend, & I receive Holy Communion. Why would I attend a Protestant church when I believe in Catholicism? Point of fact, I actually prefer Orthodox Christianity over Protestant Christian Churches, including Anglicanism (which was the Protestant church my father was raised in). And I never said who is or isn't a sinner. You on the other hand, condones sins that are condemned by the Catholic Church. You can even risk being denied Holy Communion by your Bishop.

Critices Christians for "picking n choosing" from the bible then commends Fr Jack for "picking n choosing" from the bible.

Critices Christians for "picking n choosing" from the bible then commends Fr Jack for "picking n choosing" from the bible. Everyone who claims to 'follow the Bible' picks and chooses from it. Everyone. There is absolutely no one who follows its every proscription, law and commandment in its entirety, yourself emphatically included. That said, I prefer to see the cherry-picking done from the humane and decent aspects of that often crude and cruel old book to the harvesting of its undeniably uglier and more inhumane ones. If Faustus prefers the opinions of a humanistic Christian (which I know will be an oxymoron to you) to the fulminatings of a bigot, then good on him--and on Fr. Jack as well.

So it's not OK when you do it? The only reason you prefer cherry picking the intolerant portions is to give what you believe to be unassailable support to your bigotry, after all. And if this isn't 'apparant' to you in your 'inconsistancy', then Faustus isn't the only one here who's engaged in blindly excusing sins.
