legalization of same-sex marriage? And oppose it if they live in a country where it is still not legal? I don't mean marching against it, or writing angry letters. I mean just being opposed in one's own mind. Or...is supporting the legalization of same-sex marriage not in conflict with being a good Christian?

It's not about WHO you love... But DO you love?

"Do not judge"
"Always treat others as you would like them to treat you; that is the Law"
There's no 'unless they are gay' clause.

Why is that? Keeping in mind we're talking about legal marriage - get a license at City Hall, Justice of the Peace. No involvement of church or clergy.

Even though some people look upon gay marriage as perverted, oughtn't the state have the obligation to treat a gay couple equally under the law as a straight couple?

No, I don't think it should have the obligation, but I think you probably knew that before you asked. Why would I consider something morally wrong and yet think the state has an obligation to provide it for those who don't consider it morally wrong? I also don't believe for one microsecond that it would remain a legal service only and not be forced into the churches. That's something only a pathetic imbecile would believe. This is how the churches will be destroyed, by illegalizing what the churches teach.

Why would I consider something morally wrong and yet think the state has an obligation to provide it for those who don't consider it morally wrong? Because a person can (as many do) think that it's the state's proper place to treat everyone equally under the law regardless of our individual moral judgments. There was, at least, a chance you might agree with that.I have not heard any suggestion anywhere that the state should require churches to perform gay marriages. It's totally anathema to the principle of any church/state separation. And one reason why so many people came over to the idea was the confidence that it's strictly a state matter that won't dictate to their churches.

No one should be forced to believe something that is against their religion, however, this does not give them any right to impose their religion on others who do believe in something that is against their religion.

This is how the churches will be destroyed, by illegalizing what the churches teach. We do not legislate morality in a secular state. And it cannot be forced onto any church that does not want gay marriage in their church. All marriages are recognized by the state as a legal contract between to people little different than a business contract. A church marriage alone does not marry people in the eyes of the state without a state issued marriage license.

That's not my opinion, that's the law....for now...the Bishops of Supreme Court might get you that Christian State yet.

Pedophilia will be normalized too, after you have enough people converted to Sodom. It won't be a Christian state. It will be a Noahide state, and if you think I'm eagerly awaiting that, then your brain is in even worse condition than I thought it was.

Do you think all the priests and bishops were had sex for two thousand years and yet some how we still got to the Moon. Marriage was never normalized in the Catholic priesthood but the law on the books didn't stop them. And guess what, Sodom as a place in the Bible is a myth.
