We are just 2 days away from round one. Lots of smoke screens running around and its getting pretty hard to tell who is actually interested in who. I think we might see a couple big trades happen involving some players like last year like receivers Brown and Green. The QB projections are all over the place which is exciting.
I do think this draft for the Packers might be a big middle finger to Rodgers on his way out. Rumor has it they're zeroing in on Jaxon Smith-Njigba the WR from Ohio State. While it would make sense there wouldn't be a pick id want to slap Gutekunst over more.
I'm really starting to believe Houston punts on a QB this year. Brand new head coach with a defensive mindset might want to fix that first. Doubt he gets a one and done treatment. Houston can then tank again next year and grab a Caleb Williams. Gotta have job security to do so.

Nice job, Falco! I'd be very happy to get Jones at 17!
I hope the Texans can keep their secret. We're so close now - - to not know who the second overall pick is or even what the position is going to be would set up the night really well.

Preparing myself to suddenly be a huge Anthony Richardson fan at this point. Looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out.

Preparing myself to suddenly be a huge Anthony Richardson fan at this point. Looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out. I think at the very least he might be the most fun guy to watch play. Its easy to assume that with the former Eagles OC as HC that they could run a similar scheme for Richardson and be successful. It could potentially ease him into the starting job earlier. I'd be more nervous about the Levis rumors. Not that he can't be good but it definitely makes me nervous that I see so many people that cover the league not seem to want him.

Not that he can't be good but it definitely makes me nervous that I see so many people that cover the league not seem to want him. Prisco says that that isn't how the league thinks about Levis, though. Yup I've heard this as well. One guy I listen to Ben Solak from The Ringer would say that Levis is a guy that will win over the interview processes and is a guy teammates would run through a wall for. Those aren't the things draft guys can evaluate. I could easily see him win over a head coach or a GM simply by talking to him. It always only takes one. I think he is kind of hurt by Richardson being in this class. Had he not been, Levis would be looked at a lot differently for his athleticism. I'm no QB scout that's for sure. I have a horrible track record on who I think will be good or won't. I thought Allen would be awful. Thought guys like Rosen and Lance (Lance still has a shot) would be awesome. I just know I'd be nervous if my team took him based on how he is perceived. Theyre all knee jerk reactions when the truth is nobody knows if a player will be good or not. Its why draft grades immediately after are meaningless but at the same time its part of the fun of draft season.

It is a shame that QB's aren't as predictable as we hype them. Marcus Mariota & Jameis Winston for example... a safe franchise guy who at least would be in the playoffs every other year, & a rock star who would be a more exciting Tony Romo type or whatever... now where are they. Those were the iron clad locks...

Paris Johnson is apparently the new betting odds favorite at #3 because Kyler wants him.
Paris must be a damn good Call of Duty player.

He is a freak athlete and clearly has the highest upside. Young is just too small for me. I don't see him holding up long term. I think Stroud winds up being a solid pro. A mid-tier type of QB which is fine but not what you want from a #1 pick. I honestly don't know a ton about Levis but he does have a ton of question marks. So if I'm taking a QB at #1, I'm swinging for the fences this year as there is no clear top guy. Ideally, I'd probably rather trade down, get a haul, and target Hooker later.

I saw something where the projected top three were Young, Tyree Wilson, and Paris Johnson. That's crazy to me. Johnson has a very high floor, but it wouldn't surprise me if both Jones, Skoronski and Wright are better tackles from this class. I hope that happens, though - - I don't want the Steelers trading up for him (which is a persistent rumor on Steelers boards).

Yeah, the GM has to worry about the swing and miss but at the same time, draft what turns out to be a mediocre QB you'll keep your job a few more years but will eventually be gone. Take a shot and it pays off with a stud, you keep your job a Hell of a lot longer.

Matt Miller NFL GM told ESPN: "There's no one worth trading up for." When asked about trading to the 2nd or 3rd picks.
The Colts might very well have the choice of the 2nd QB. Just last week the assumption was they would need to trade to 3 just to get the 3rd choice.
Tomorrow is gonna be pretty wild.

You don't think the Vikes would need to trade up further to get Levis? They'd be giddy to get him at 19.
