Brown shocks Princeton, 90-81. At one point, Brown was 6-17. First time a #4 seed wins an Ivy tournament (only the top four go to the Ivy)

18 #1 conference tournament seeds have been knocked out without trophies. Purdue becomes the latest

UVM takes their tournament title again, they're headed back to the big dance. Love to see them get another upset like Syracuse in '05

Houston crushed by Iowa State 69-41. UConn definitely the #1 overall seed now. Purdue and Houston still #1's

NC State thumps UNC to win the ACC. Five games in five days, that's impressive

Is there an explanation for Houston's loss? Can anyone remember a season where this many highly ranked teams got blown off the floor? Not just upset, blown the fuck out? This has been going on all season, and it's really bizarre. Has the NBA mindset already crept into the college ranks? "Guess it's not our night, pack it in and get ready for the next one." It's wild.

I think Houston lost because defense first teams sometimes are too defensive. Happen with Virginia a lot. That and Iowa State just wanted it more. After Arizona and Tennessee bumbled in their tournaments, the Cyclones seen an opportunity for a #1 seed. It wouldn't have mattered if North Carolina won but they had to win. And I think a lot of team that know they are a #1, #2 or #3 seed don't try as hard in the conference tournaments. Calipari has come out and said he doesn't give two fucks about the SEC Tournament.
The conference tournaments have been fun. I think it's up to 21 #1 seeds have not won their tournaments out of 32 possible (no #1 plays today). Some cool stories. Stetson and Grambling breaking their NCAA cherries. 17 loss Brown looking for their first since 1986. Duquesne looking for their first since 1977 and Norm Nixon. Long Beach State tells their coach he's gone at the end of the season and win the Big West.

St. Johnโs (20-13, 11-9) won six straight games before losing in the Big East Tournament semifinals, scoring 90 points and pushing defending national champion UConn to the limit.

Indiana State was 29 at NET. Article was focused on St. Johns. From what I heard, the Committee was all about strength of non-conference schedules. Indiana State had two big non-conference scheduled, Alabama and Michigan State (lost both). St. John's biggest game was Dayton, although Michigan probably looked good when it was scheduled.
At KenPom, St. John's was the highest ranked team to be out at #25. Lowest ranked at large is Virginia at 69.

After Yale led for most of the game they let Brown back in. With 25 seconds left Brown had a 6 point lead, then collapsed.

After Yale led for most of the game they let Brown back in. With 25 seconds left Brown had a 6 point lead, then collapsed. The Kent State-Akron game was a bigger heartbreak. Kent goes ahead by one with six seconds to go. But one Kent player didn't see the basket go it, He thought they were behind and fouled. Akron sank the two FT's and won. Ouch
