Undeserved win. Apart from the first 15 minutes, very lackluster performance. The Bundestrainer will be not amused. Why he takes Werner out after conceding the equalizer he only knows himself.

Found this on reddit, about a largely unknown but nonetheless essential figure in German football of the last 25 years. Helmut Groß, The Unknown Mastermind of German footballKinda longish, but it's weekend, and international break, and a worthwhile read for those interested.

Looks like Löw threw a couple of objects after the last game... looking brilliant so far.

Rummenigge calling for the abolishing of the 50+1 rule, a stricter handling of FFP and a UEFA wide salary cap. Bayern's so-called sporting director insisted again that Bayern won't pay 100m for a player. Interesting that Rummenigge's initiative "for the good of football" comes at a time when he has to realize Bayern can't compete with clubs being backed by oil states. Unfortunately that won't solve the problem of Bayern not having either a transfer or a squad planning strategy. They don't want to cough up 80 to 100m for a player, but they haven't got the scouting to bring in talented players before they enter that price bracket. They still don't even have brought in a replacement for Michael Reschke and are without a squad planner. Let alone the problem they haven't got a scouting network that can compete. Their only "strategy" is to rely on other German clubs being stupid or gullible or spineless and sell them their best players for cheap. I'd predict these days are over and that isn't a promising strategy for the future. Meanwhile on the Leipzig front, Rangnick told Kicker he can't see Leipzig making a transfer in the 50m+ region. Says they simply have to be good enough scouting to bring in the next Werners, Keitas and Forsbergs every year. You heard that, bluerisk? Told you so. Contrary to Bayern though, Leipzig have a functioning scouting network and squad planning, and a transfer strategy.

And being down to 10 men at that.
What an absolute shitshow Leverkusen has turned into. Down 1-3 against freaking Mainz. Herrlich one of the top candidates to get the sack in the first season half. But then Völler should take his hat, too.
Gladbach losing against Frankfurt, too.

HSV 0-2 Leipzig
Freiburg 0-0 Dortmund
Gladbach 0-1 Frankfurt
Augsburg 3-0 Köln
Mainz 3-1 Leverkusen
Wolfsburg 1-1 Hannover
Don't particularly like this Bosz incarnation of BVB.
Now 1899 vs Bayern, last game for today.

1899 2-0 Bayern.
Nagelsmann >>>> Ancelotti. That's the third time Nagelsmann-Hoffe is unbeaten against Ancelotti-Bayern. Two wins, one draw. Love the little magician.
Ancelotti another candidate for the sack in the first season half? Tuchel's looking for a job.

Most recently, I read an interview with the Bayern Munich player Robert Lewandowski in which he expressed his concerns towars the policy of the FC Bayern Munich. One of his major issues: the unwillingness to spend more than 40 million on a player, which deems to him an inadequate sum for a top player. www.spiegel.de/sport/fussball/fc-bayern-muenchen-robert-lewandowski-fordert-mehr-weltstars-a-1166727.htmlI couldn't agree more. I expressed it many, many times; and my opinion hasn't changed a bit. And so, the decline of the FC Bayern Munich continues. Defeats like these will become the new normal. Players like Lewandowski will leave, player like Griezmann are out of the self-set reach (in time, we can't even buy them if we wanted too, because we have fallen too far behind - also economically), and even players like Timo Werner will avoid us and seek their chance with (future) top clubs. Great job...Uli.

Robert Lewandowski turns 30 next summer. For what club do you see him leaving (unless it's for China)? Aubamayang is two years younger and even he couldn't find a club this summer that would meet Dortmund's asking price. Unless you sell him for peanuts of course. IMO Robert should focus less on complaining about his club and his teammates and more on his football. He's not exactly been tearing trees out lately.
With all due criticism of Hoeneß, it's not his fault that football clubs are owned by oil states these days. If you can't economically compete with the state of Qatar, you have to find other ways.

Hertha 1-1 Werder Bremen
Schalke 3-1 Stuttgart
Schalke with another shit performance, 38 percent possession at home against a newly promoted Stuttgart, still managed to score somehow. They're ahead of Bayern in the table now.

Completely forgot to mention: Hertha vs Bremen was the first match Bibiana Steinhaus refereed in the Bundesliga. Everyone's gushing how she's written history as the first female ref in a top flight. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. Howard Webb (her partner) was spotted in the audience.
The table right now:

Hoeneß doesn't think Lewy's comments were that bad.
Rummenigge and Hoeneß, the dream team. Beginning to wonder how long until Rummenigge throws the towel.
