...the Dumont TV empire was mentioned in a previous post. Ironically, the CEO of Radio Broadcast History in Chicago is Bruce Dumont who is a direct descendent of the Dumont family. I might be wrong, but I believe Bruce DuMont is Allen B. DuMont's nephew (Allen started the TV network).

The Aaron Ward was a US destroyer that served radar picket duty during the battle of Okinawa. It was hit by a half dozen or more kamikazes but stayed afloat and limped back to New York.

Tay Bridge collapse could, if done right, be the subject matter for an interesting film, particularly the investigation which followed.

The 1996 Port Arthur Massacre. If they could make a movie about New Zealand's worst mass shooting then they can make one about Martin Bryant.
Israel's attack on the USS Liberty.

How about a film about running a UHF station in the U.S. during the 1950s? Such a film probably wouldn't have a happy ending, as UHF stations in the 1950s suffered from very low viewership (most TV sets couldn't receive UHF signals) and many went off the air after a few years.
How about a film about the "bedroom programmers" of 1980s Britain. They wrote games, advertised them in magazines, and sent them to costumers in the mail. This was very common in the early 1980s.
A film about Sir Clive Sinclair's life could be fun...in fact they could do three films, one about his 1960s misadventures, one about his 1970s misadventures and another about his 1980s misadventures.
A film about the early Soviet space program could be great.

A film about the early Soviet space program could be great. There are tons of documentaries that are feature film length if you would care to look.

I wanted to say that a movie about the Tokyo Trials after WW II would be interesting after I saw a documentary by Tim Toidze yesterday, but now I realized there is already this mini series:

They should make a movie or mini series about the French invasion and occupation of half England in 1216-1217 under King Louis VIII.

Apollo 11 would be an obvious one. Yes!! Also, a film about one of those often overlooked yet highly important Gemini missions.

Don't think you could make a film out of one of the Gemini missions - a film about all of them on the other hand. Gemini is very much overlooked
