Halloween H2O
I was really excited about that one for two reasons. 1. Jamie Lee returning to the franchise. 2. It was being directed by Steve Minor, who had previously directed two of the better Friday the 13th films.
In the end though, it was suck-a-roni & cheese.

Prometheus, I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a movie as I was after seeing that.

Ghostbusters (1984) I usually love those 1980s fun flicks, but this one left me cold for some reason. I can't explain why. Just rubbed me the wrong way, I guess. Didn't like it either. and i don't feel like giving it another try, as i know i would not like it

Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace. I grew up on the original trilogy (wore out my original VHS set) and was really hyped to see the first prequel. I went on the late night opening with a group of friends and there was a big "to-do" by the theater. The manager even addressed the audience before the movie started. The film started to applause with the 20th Century Fox logo and "A long time ago..." Roughly 2 hours later at the local Denny's restaurant (early A.M.) I was wondering what the heck just happened. It felt like a part of my childhood was destroyed. I've recovered (even after the pathetic Clones and marginal Revenge) but don't hold the Star Wars films nearly as high as I used to. I have to admit that Rogue One was pretty good though. Force Awakens was okay but I don't think any new film will restore the awe that I held when I watched the Falcon maneuver through an asteroid belt with Star Destroyers in pursuit as in Empire back in the eighties. Im depressed reading your story.

Murder on the Orient Express. This movie has too good of a plot, cast and director to not only be good but one of the all time greats. Instead, it fell on its ass, mainly because every character was written to be as obnoxious as possible.

Star Trek (2009)
Had been hyping that one for 3 years prior to a release and it ended up being a (in my humble opinion) badly written space adventure movie replete with lame villains, myriad plot holes and logic inconsistencies and a threadbare, only partially comprehensible plot.

Avengers 2 Hurt Locker Star Wars prequels Gremlins 2 Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull District 9 XMen: Days of Future Past I liked Days of Future Past myself, but the hype surrounding it at the time of its release left me with the impression that it was gonna be the apex of the X-Men series. When I eventually got round to seeing it, I was distinctly underwhelmed.

That one didn't quite live up to the reviews / word of mouth...Expected more when I finally got around to it...Thought it was average..

I can understand where you are coming from... although I now like the movie, I had a hard time 'buying' the star ship Enterprise [no bloody A, B, C, OR D!] being run by 12 year olds. I had the same problem with superman returns, although I grew to really like it. why is lois lane 12 years old with a 5 year old kid?

Aside some obvious already listed, I was hoping Pirates 4 would be a shorter, lighter affair. Esp having left off the third with hints for the fountain of youth. Instead it was a disastrous mess.
Spectre is another that should've been far more intelligent than it was. It felt like fan service instead of progress. I walked out of that feeling like CR had been built up all for nought.
Batman v Superman... I mean, the 2 most iconic superhero characters of all time & it's a flatlined movie the first time together.

I was really excited for the new Robin Hood with Russell Crowe. Gladiator is one of my favorite movies of all time. This had the same writers and Director and even the same lead. The trailer made the movie look epic too. The movie was seriously terrible. I have been let down before, but at least those movies were still mildly entertaining, just not as good as I thought they would be. Robin Hood just sucked in every way.
