'Logan' was a pretty definitive chronological ending for the franchise. Anything that takes place afterwards would just ruin the impact of the film.

Anything that takes place afterwards would just ruin the impact of the film. But it still opened doors for the next... next gen of mutants. And impact means nothing to them when they have a franchise to run. And talking about ruining impact. That's like saying there should be no more X-men movies ever. There will be more Wolverine movies when they find a new actor to fill the shoes.

If they had enough respect for Hugh Jackman to give him and his character one final send-off, they should at the very least have enough respect to let the film stand on its own. The movie took place in 2029 anyway, so it's not like they have to cram the timelines of any of their future movies after that.

That's like saying don't make any X-men movies after 3 because they all died. And they did let it stand on it's own since it was a spin-off solo movie. And they also let it breathe. 1 month is long enough. Okay 2 months is long enough. Look for a new guy. He doesn't want to play the part anymore? There is a business to run. You don't stop making pizzas because the chef quit.

In the an alternate future. Okay, wrong choice of word. What I mean is possible future. The X-men movies doesn't have to adhere to Logan. If it does the X-men movies will have to end in... 2006? Because Charles kills everyone. The one thing the X-men comics does a lot is possible futures. Rachel Summers does not come from the same timeline as Days of Future Past which is not the same timeline where Bishop is from which is not the same timeline that Cable is from which is not the same timeline as Old Man Logan. The X-men movies should be able to have multiple series (when one is finished) and have the next stem off of one point in time or even the start and then go off in a different direction.* Then say that this is a possible future from this point in time. Kind of like the "What if...?" comics. *First Class basically does this with kid Erik being the starting point.

Fox will botch it up, as usual. The only characters they care about are Logan, Xavier and Magneto.

Goddamn you, Sam, ThisGuy. You two asshole hijack every X-Men-related board, poisoning good discussions about good to great filmmaking with your juvenile crap.
Anyway, the fan fiction I've been working on features Laura / X-23 returning back to the time of X-Men: Days of Future Past. She fixes that ugly future. In Logan, the asshole bad guys openly admit that they single-handedly wiped out mutant kind. The timeline needs to be fixed again or there is no hope for the franchise. That's how I'm playing it.
In my fan fiction, Bobby turns gay and he seeks a mentor in the very openly gay, Northstar. Angel from X-Men 3 is recruited and tortured into submission by Apocalypse. Rachel Summers has now replaced Jean - Jean being dead and now, her and Scott have the rockiest relationship possible, given the fact that he cheated on Jean... with whom?? Yes, her clone. But it all fits perfectly into the movie universe

But it all fits perfectly into the movie universe This is a troll post, right? You are trolling us all with this? Am I being filmed for my reaction to reading this? Okay, I'll bite... How does Laura go back in time? Is this just a remake of DoFP? Is she going back in time to the 70s or is she going to 2023 to the Sentinel future? How is that place there when it was overwritten? Why is Drake suddenly gay in the movies? And how does one turn gay? Why would he seek a gay mentor? Why would Apocalypse go after a second Warren Worthington, III? Especially when the previous one was a failure? I'm guessing Rachel came from the future. Why would she be upset with Scott over something that happened in the pasts? Jean is dead, why would this matter? Also, if it is her clone, wouldn't Rachel understand about the telepathy? Why all this manufactured drama and not actually making it organic? Oh wait you want it to fit in the movie universe...

Simon previously teased Alpha Flight and the Exiles for future X-Men films. An easter egg is already found on the set of Deadpool 2!
So... Alpha Flight is a travel agency? What happens when the actual Alpha Flight shows up?

ThatGuy, you really don't know anything about Rachel Grey-Summers do you?? LOL. You're ignorant to any new X-Men story lines apparently. Bobby has turned gay in the comics. Rachel obviously changes her name from Summers to Grey... because she's pissed at dad for some reason. Hell, it's in X-Men Comic Vine for crying out loud. Do you just want the X-Men of the 1960s? I mean, god knows, you can't let go of the fact that the X-Men costumes have changed... even in the comics.
