It looks like Federer will make short work out of Milos Raonic. He is one set up and he already has his break on the second set.
Even though he is a fellow Canadian, I am not a fan of Raonic, so this result suits me just fine. I always like seeing the big servers being beaten.

Raonic took one of those overlong comfort breaks after he lost the 2nd set and it appears to have upset Roger's composure.

I'm sorry that the first time, in a long time, an American made made the semis and it may be due to injury. Feel bad for Murray that may be the reason he lost.
Djokovic is down early also. Could this be Roger's path to a 8th Wimbledon title?

This is a reader's comment I saw on Eurosport. I never thought of it this way. I see his point, but I can't say I agree. Federer at this point in his career is perfectly entitled to take a couple of months off to rest if he so wishes. I don't think it is in the least "disrespectful" to other players.

Nobody is forced to play the clay season if they don't want to, if they want to skip it to try and enhance their chances at Wimbledon they are welcome to do so.

Jep, I disagree with every thing that guy said. To address the Centre Court comment, the players with the biggest draw always play on Center Court. It's always been that way and will always be. Besides, they are the #1 and #3 seeds.

I tipped Cilic before the tournament started. Still fancy him to do the business.

Could this be Roger's path to a 8th Wimbledon title? Querrey likely would have won anyway. They were barely talking about Murray hobbling till near the end when he seemed to be emphasizing it. I think Querrey has a good chance against Celic and maybe further, despite all the 5 setters.

And yes, Murray tends to fake injury when he out of gas and thinks he will lose.

I am not entirely sure that this is true - I think ATP has rules about skipping too many tournaments without a valid reason. In any case, Federer played on every single Grand Slam tournament for something like 16 years, so he can be excused. Come to think of it, didn't Pete Sampras use to skip clay court tournaments, since he was useless on that surface?

Come to think of it, didn't Pete Sampras use to skip clay court tournaments, since he was useless on that surface? They do, the players can ignore them like Federer did. I understand that you have a limited number of tournaments that can contribute to your ranking in a year. If you don't participate in any of the ATP's mandatory tournaments or a Grand Slam it's still counted as a tournament for your total but you get a score of 0. For normal players skipping the 3 Masters 1000 Clay tournaments and a Grand Slam tournament (worth 2000 ranking points to the winner) would have a major negative impact on their ranking so they choose not to do it. It hurts their ranking it hurts their seeding for tournaments. Federer's not normal though. In the last year he has skipped seven out of nine M1000 tournaments, two out of four Grand Slams and the World Tour Finals worth up to 1500 points for the winner. Despite skipping most major tournaments he's still ranked No. 5 in the world (moves to #3 if he wins) and was at no real disadvantage in the Wimbledon draw this year thanks to his previous strong performances on grass. Federer is able to completely skip the clay season without negative consequences because of the amazing success he's achieved in the few tournaments he has entered. It hasn't just been handed to him it's been earned.

I thought that post was utterly ridiculous. He's disrespecting the other players by skipping the clay court season? IT's not a team sport. Anybody is free to do whatever the hell they want. Each player is responsible for his own health and his own career. There are points on the line and they are welcome to take the hit as far as points go. Anybody else on the tour is free to skip the clay court season or any other slam or masters event they wish to skip.

Muguruza is massacring Rybarikova: 6-1 4-0 after about an hour. I watched parts of it while having breakfast. You are right, Muguruza is one of those screamers - not among the worse of the lot, but still quite annoying. Anyway, 6-1 6-1. She is in the final again.

Did I read it right that both singles finals will be played on Sunday? Is that new this year?

Venus Williams crushes the dreams of an entire nation by ruthlessly pushing Johanna Konta aside from her path to Wimbledon glory. 6-4 6-2.
Garbiñe Muguruza will have her second shot at winning Wimbledon, again with a Williams across the net from her.

All she did was win a tennis match, she didn't kill anybody.

I think he is saying Australians had high hopes since they finally had a player in the semis again. It has been 6 years since an Australian singles player has won a major and the most recent one before that has been 16 years ago.
