Let's talk about Disney's newest remake. I for one can't wait for this movie to come out! I'm ecstatic.

I know exactly what you mean I even dug out the animated classic and watched it again a few days ago. Sure got me in the mood! Which part are you most looking forward to?

The library scene when beast surprises her. And of course the ballroom scene. Just thinking about it and I'm smiling! What about you?

I'm curious if it will be as magical (probably even more magical!) as the animated film. I'm also looking forward to learning more about that magical book. I ordered the novelization and the 'Lost in a book' novel so I'm very interested to know how that all works out. I'll probably spoil a lot for myself, but I won't be able to see the movie until April, and I just can't wait that long lol.

It looks great and Emma Watson is a perfect choice for Belle.

For what I've heard from people that have read the novelization of the film, Gaston is poorly made... or at least changed in a way that isjust not acceptable.
Apparently they have turned him from the funny, sexist, monster into am more "misunderstood" likable guy... which is a blasphemy considering that Gaston and Beast were supposed to be polar opposites of each other.
Also, lines like "Reading gets women thinking" have been removed so people doesn't get "triggered". But... we were NOT SUPPOSED TO agree with Gaston, can't people get that?

I'm saving all judgement until the film is actually released. BATB is one of my favorite animated films, and the trailer looks pretty good.
As for the novelization, it's entirely possible that it's based on an earlier draft of the screenplay than the one they actually used for filming. I know that the novelization for Back to the Future was based on the draft from back when Eric Stoltz was going to play Marty, and as such had Marty hiding the Delorean in the garage of his future home instead of behind a billboard, and had Marty be forced to haul the Delorean all the way to Riverside drive to get Doc to believe him. So, I'm not going to judge the movie based on what's been said about the novelization. I'm waiting for the movie to actually come out before I have an opinion of it.

This the film Gaston ( Luke Evans) -- Btw, I have seen the animated film as well as a theatre staging in London -- and I have always thought of Gaston as an amusing villain with biceps to spare

Sometime last year London's Jonathan Ross featured guests Hugh Jackman, Taron Egerton and Luke Evans. He decided to stage a sing-off of a famous song from BaTB.
The role of Gaston was the first professional role for Jackman ( Australian production, in 1996!) and Luke Evans is portraying the role in the live action musical. Taron actually sings even if Eggsy and Eddie the Eagle do not!

I'm keeping my reservations.
Beauty and The Beast is my favorite Disney movie, as so I will either eat crow or bash this movie till kingdom come, no in-between.

It will be fantastic I'm sure! I can't wait until March. I'm very much anticipating the soundtrack! From the stuff we've heard so far I'm happy, but I think it's heavily edited for the trailers I'm hoping it doesn't sound as auto tuney for the actual movie.

I was on the fence about this movie until the Golden Globes ad came out that gave us our first listen as far as Belle's singing voice. Now I am actively refusing to see this one. Auto-tune has no place in a musical. Either use her natural voice, or dub her over with a better singer.
