Spiderman is killing it with universal praise, almost identical to the praise that started the entire MCU for Iron Man 1. The current rating on RT is 7.7 with a score of 94%, and it's sort of interesting when you consider that just a month ago, Wonder Woman deservedly was greeted with a large helping of well earned respect, but nonetheless has so far been outdone just four weeks later. That film by comparison has earned a 7.5 with a 92%. If you put yourself in DC's shoes for just a moment and imagine what it would be like to have finally broken out with a good production, for it only to last 4 weeks until the MCU topped your best effort, it's sort of amusing. I am seeing this on Saturday for the first time, and think it's awesome that the collaboration with Sony has thus far worked out, and I hope that it means they'll continue to want to do things right from now on. It's awesome to have another awesome MCU film on the shelf. |

better reviewed than logan with 93% at 7.9 average rating after nearly 6 months?. before Logan even got the best reviewed movie ever on rt, the film already got a lot of TDK comparison. homecoming has not gotten that type of accliam or comparsion. wonder woman was at a 94% at the time of the release on Friday and dropped to a 92%. so it is in the spiderman homecoming range.
If this holds then it would cause a lot of problems and credibility for critics. a movie like Logan that is a land mark comic film and raised the bar for cbms scoring lower than a movie like Homecoming on %, that despite the good reviews has not been called one of the best comic films ever or the best marvel film getting that 94% will just confirm critics go very soft on mcu movies and they are indeed bias to mcu movies
Homecoming was fun and light hearted but much inferior to Logan. and I hate to say this but wonder woman was the better and more interesting, it took more chances and had a better plotline. Logan is an oscar worthy movie that will be talked about for years to come. homecoming is a pop corn flick. RT scores will become meaningless and very questioning if this score remains higher than Logan, TDK, Winter Solider or DOFP.
There Are many fans of Spiderman that have said spiderman 1 and 2 are better. so what is the plan with this critics? did they get so mad at themselves for praising wonder woman that they quickly remembered their loyalty is to marvel first?
the same critics gave power ranger 2017 a 46% on rt even though the first 2 arcs of power rangers was as good as homecoming.

I saw it, it's solid for sure, and I'm glad it was made, but it's also rather unexciting, which is fine, it wasn't supposed to be, but it's also not TDK, which is a somewhat odd comparison. |

I don't think it was in the league of tdk at all. It perfect for what it was, I agree. A small little film that sums up the end of Logan, and it was a nice touch. But it's not like it's the best comic film ever and although I haven't seen Homecoming yet, I'm inclined to say it's apt to be a lot more fun.
The Oscar nom conversation is just silly. WW got that word tossed about and 4 weeks later Homecoming has better reviews. Homecoming has a higher like rating than both, etc.
I think you're underselling it.
