Hey, I won't deny that the success of Wonder Woman will certainly help Captain Marvel and their confidence in making her own film. And why shouldn't. And yeah, she kicked ass and that's aspiring enough for girls all around who want grow up to kick ass like that, whether in military or sports. But an advantage I think Captain Marvel has over Wonder Woman is that she despite all her powers, she's still human as far I know. I know Wonder Woman is combining different comic eras of runs into the film, and Captain Marvel will probably take different aspect from each of her comic run, but I still don't really know the extent of Wonder Woman's weaknesses. The New52 line, which the film definitely took aspects from, Diana is the daughter of Zeus, so she's essentially is a Goddess. The film set up that a God can be killed by another God, but what about from humans and other beings? That was my biggest gripe with the film. I didn't really feel any stakes for her or feel like she was in any real danger. I mean, did she really need the shield? I guess that confirms she somewhat maybe susceptible to bullets maybe, yet she's taking big hits from Doomsday in BvS. So how much damage can Darkseid or Steppenwolf really do to her? I know they consider themselves "new Gods", but aren't they technically really aliens like Superman is? On the other hand, Carol Danvers is still human even after she gets her powers. She's superpowered and can certainly take a lot of damage, but I think even she has a limit to that and can be hurt and wounded, so its easier to make her feel like she's in danger. And I think that makes her character more relatable to the audience because there can be a struggle with her.

did she really need the shield? She was bleeding after the beach battle on Themyscira so she isn't bullet-proof like Superman is so Yes, she does need to deflect bullets with the bracelets or shield. how much damage can Darkseid or Steppenwolf really do to her? I know they consider themselves "new Gods", but aren't they technically really aliens like Superman is? No, Darkseid and Steppenwolf are as much "Gods" as Zeus and the Olympian gods. The Olympian gods and the New Gods were both basically created by the Godwave after the destruction of GodWorld. dc.wikia.com/wiki/Old_Gods

Captain Marvel was always on the agenda, WW really has no bearing on this movie. If the movie is good, people will enjoy it. Regardless of race, gender etc As simple as that. In Marvel we trust

The problem with superhero powers in both comics and movies/TV is they are so often story dependent. They seem to change based on the threat. In the CW shows sometimes they change from scene to scene.
Kryptonians are supposed to be invulnerable to everything except kryptonite and magic but on the show "Supergirl" she gets hurt by electricity and bombs and other things at least when the script calls for it. Don't even get me started on The Flash and his various maximum speeds or Arrow's fighting skills.
It's always been this way. Back on shows like "The Incredible Hulk" and "Wonder Woman" in the 1970's they were always just a LITTLE BIT stronger than whatever was attacking them, whether it was a 600 pound gorilla or a 40 ton tank. Both were supposed to seem threatening.

Maybe Iron Man will be her mentor. Too expensive. Perhaps Hawkeye or Falcon.

In Marvel we trust MCU wasn't going to make Captain Marvel or any other female-led superhero movie, until DCEU announced a Wonder Woman movie.

Maybe Iron Man will be her mentor. So Captain Marvel will be Iron Man 5?

LOL Captain Marvel has been on the agenda for ages... LOL, source for this claim, or it's a lie, Clark. And what a pity that Marvel Studios had their "agenda" and it still took them approx 20 movies, many of which were bad/unnecessary and/or featuring even more obscure heroes than Cap Marvel, to finally make a female led movie right after the big success of WW. What a pitiful coincidence, what a deplorable priority in their agenda...

If MCU's agenda all along was to make 20 movies before making a female-led movie, that's a pathetic and deplorable agenda. The DCEU made a female-led movie with only their 4th movie and the X-Men will have a female-led movie with their 8th movie.

Talking of deplorable, you never explained why you think hiring a female director for Wonder Woman was a risk. Are women directors less capable than male?

Because Deadpool was the 8th X-men movie. Also, Marvel isn't just bringing movies out for the hell of it. There is an actual structure and placement of characters. Captain Marvel is for after Infinity War when they restructure the Avengers universe. Just like how, structurally, Wonder Woman was there to introduce Themyscira for Justice League. But, yeah, they should have made Aquaman instead of Suicide Squad since Atlantis is a big part of Justice League, also.

And MCU's structure is to build a male-dominated cinematic universe where male characters are the lead in the 1st 20 movies. If WB hadn't announced a Wonder Woman movie, MCU would've never made a Captain Marvel movie or any other female-led movie.
