Julie Andrews wore a couple of nice hats in Mary Poppins. And apparently Emily Blunt will continue the tradition of Mary Poppins wearing nice hats in the sequel. I still mourn the loss of Mr. Banks’ poor hat from the original film, though. There’s very little, if anything, that I like about the movie Titanic (1997)...but I do always remember Rose’s hat. That’s^ a whole lotta hat. It’s kind of a shame that we only get to see Vesper Lynd wearing a hat from behind in the movie Casino Royale (2006). Though you see more in the extended cut of the scene on the DVD. I think Eva Green makes the hat look work for her.

The most famous scene from The Ox-Bow Incident is this one for me: Here, Henry Fonda is reading the letter that Dana Andrews wrote to his wife and family. At no time during that reading is this pose (between Fonda and Morgan) broken. Watch it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lljIrAfBzYs

Just finished a BAKER's DOZEN Game about costumes over on the BAKER's DOZEN Game Board. Johnny Depp seems particularly fond of hats : in Benny and Joon as Jack Sparrow in Pirates Mad Hatter The Lone Ranger - "Tonto"

The fez which Matt Smith wore as the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who was memorable... Despite it only lasting one episode. Though he couldn't pass up any opportunity to find a fez (or ask for one) and wear it. Jayne Cobb’s “pretty cunning” hat in the TV series Firefly.

Bat--- Of all your image threads, I think I like this one the most. Since following this thread I HAVE been noticing how many movies have great unique hats. And, as with Mrs. Miniver (1942), the hat seems to be part of the plot of the movie. Thanks for recognizing the late Harry Anderson (R.I.P.) in you current avatar too. Harry seemed to love mixing comedy with flim-flam and magic tricks. Didn't he start on Cheers and then move over to Night Court?

kijii Thanks for the compliment .. it has been a fun thread with so many posters contributing. Re: "Harry the Hat" Anderson - right on topic nickname Cheers was an occasional appearance between 1982-93 and Night Court was weekly 1984-92 followed by Dave's World 1993-97. I always liked like him. Seemed like a smart and naturally funny man. Harry the Hat wearing a Hat
