No. Raimi was a superb director and those movies have cinematography and action sequences that are still second to none. The screenplays are also top notch for those first two Spideys. Only a handful of MCU movies are up to that level of quality. You cannot possibly tell me that Iron Man 3 or Thor 2 or Ant Man are anywhere near as good as those movies. Can you? I'd rather watch Ironman 3, Thor 2, and Ant-Man a million times before touching one of Raimi's films again. Ok. That's personal preference, innit? Ant Man is not a better movie than Spiderman 2. Indeed! Comic book flicks have gotten lazy as of late. Even mediocre movies in the genre are celebrated now. Something like SM2 would blow the competition away! Opinion. Subjective. You are not the authority and you do not speak for anyone. You do not get to decide what's lazy and what's not. You do not get to decide if something is worthy of praise or not. So just shut up. No, I let my temper run away when you called newer superhero films lazy. Lazy is just relying on Wolverine for the X-Men all the time. Lazy is just making a bunch of Batman movies all the time instead of giving guys like Aquaman a shot. If the MCU was being lazy, they wouldn't be introducing Adam Warlock in the near future. There would never have been a Doctor Strange movie, let alone one where they came up with a creative way of beating the villains. There would certainly be no Guardians of the Galaxy films. They're not lazy. They're just different. |
