I mean, I understand that the Punisher wasn't that great but c'mon, it's at least as good if not better than Supergirl.

RT is a joke so don't worry about it. I don't understand how you can compare them. One is a fluff CW show for teen girls while the other features a PTSD victim killing people with a sledgehammer.

Because shows like Supergirl are easy to at least enjoy. I think it is cheesy crap, but remember, if it gets a 2.8 out of 5 or something, it gets a fresh rating. Punisher is EASILY the better show. There is no debate there.

Supergirl is politically correct. Punisher isn't.

Supergirl is politically correct. Punsher isn't. Basically this. Supergirl is safe, bland entertainment that is easy to access for most age groups, it's a perfect example of "what you see is what you get" television. It's overall pretty clean and doesn't take any real risks with its storytelling. The Punisher on the contrary is very dark, visceral, and doesn't sugar coat its subject matter at all. It is not a politically safe series that will get everybody to see eye to eye with itself. Though I'm sure DC-Fan will give us the true reason why there's such a gap in scores on RT, "Easy, Supergirl is a great series - one of the best superhero shows of all-time and respects its source material, while The Punisher is a piece of crap series that is too backwards and doesn't portray Frank Castle as a true superhero, it and Jessica Jones share the title of worst superhero show ever made, FACT."

Pretty much this. All of this. Marvel is once again being the true trailblazer.

I don't understand how the DC fanatics reconcile their hypocrisy. They constantly bitch about 'kiddie Marvel' and rave about DC shows which are the ultimate examples of fluff consumable by anything with a pulse. Those shows (Flash, Supergirl, Arrow) seem to written for 14 year old girls. How can you watch that stuff and then complain Marvel movies are silly and juvenile? I just don't get it.

Punisher was going to have a hard time because of the politics of having a character who is a gun-wielding vigilante killer.
Supergirl is just mindless fun, probably reviewed by different people. Plus it's politically incorrect to not like stuff starring women.

Supergirl is in weekly installments and those who vote on a whole season are those that stick with it from start to finish...fans mostly.
The Punisher is released in one "binge" package. Unlike weekly shows it's given as a season to reviewers, both those that usually watch genre shows as well as regular TV reviewers.
The binge series seasons always get way more reviews

Not surprised, Supergirl is more family friendly and less violent. She's also more of a role model for the youngsters. The Punisher is a more violent and bloody show with a protagonist who's not a role model.
It also doesn't help that the Punisher has pacing issues.
Still I personally preferred The Punisher over Supergirl.

Honestly all of DC's CW shows are way too fluffy for my taste. Flash, Arrow, Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow and Super girl are just beyond cheesy.
I enjoy the lighthearted feel in some MCU and DCEU movies but they still had some really epic moments. There's only so much lighthearted I can take and CW DC just takes it overboard.
There's no doubt that Marvel Netflix is much better.

Supergirl is politically correct. Punisher isn't. I 100% agree with my good friend, Raptor, here. Punisher is awesome. Supergirl is leftist garbage.

I mean, I understand that the Punisher wasn't that great but c'mon, it's at least as good if not better than Supergirl. My theory is that most of the reviewers didn't bother to watch it all. If I hadn't enjoyed the first two episodes, there's a chance I'd have stopped watching after episodes 3 and 4 which started to drag a little. I am glad I stuck with it.

It took me 4 months to binge all of Season 2 because I was in such a good mood after each episode, I put off watching the next. Lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove Lovelovelove. Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft Never could get into Punisher. Tried. Nope.

It's just opinions that we never agree with. As always, attempts to measure art fail in spectacular fashion.
It might just be that SG is cute. I know I've meant to watch it for just that reason alone. Still going to get around to it at some point.

I know I've meant to watch it for just that reason alone. Still going to get around to it at some point. It's really positive. Season 2's finale revealed Kat knows who Supergirl is, showing the characters don't have to be idiots that can't see thru a pair if fake glasses, yet she keeps it to herself because she knows how to keep secrets. It isn't a drab, depressing show. It has hope
