Collider, Emergency Awesome, Kinda Culty, and other youtube outlets among other things.
Obviously IW is more talked about, duh. Actually that was part of my point, is that CM has more talk before it even starts filming than AM does after it's wrapped. I never said it was trending, I never said it was the primary conversation. I said it was more than AM.
There was plenty of talk about AM before it started filming too, and there will be a lot more talk once the first trailer hits. I heard some talk about the sea life he fights, but that was about it. There seems to be a whole lot more topics about Captain Marvel.
Either way, the main point that you've gotten away from here, is that AM isn't saving DC. CM is the future of the MCU.

If AM is well received, it will help keep the movies going. Also, the movie is currently being talked about now because of a picture that was released for it.

As a casual and neutral fan of all superhero films, i visit multiple websites per day, and see far more AM ( and DCEU ) articles than I do CM.

So what is Ares' role in all of this? Is he or is he not somehow responsible for starting or perpetuating World War I in the DCEU? Now that I think about it, it doesn't really matter, it wouldn't change my opinion of the film one way or the other. I'm glad you liked the movie and the character unfortunately, I can't say that I felt the same. Ares’ role was providing inspiration for some of the weapons that Ludendorff and Maru worked on, and pushing for an armistice that he believed would’ve ultimately made things worse, but again, the war wasn’t started by him, and killing him wasn’t what ended it. He certainly wasn’t the reason that Ludendorff was plotting to kill a bunch of people in London. Right, like I said - no effect on my opinion of the film. Thanks for clearing up his indirect and meandering style of villainy.

If AM is well received, it will help keep the movies going. Not necessarily. The entire DCEU is at risk. AM is only being released because it was already filmed. If they hadn't have started it yet, it might likely be cancelled.
You can stop trying to compare the conversation level any time. It's not even close.

Get back to me if you want to be realistic and reasonable.

I mean, Shazam! hasn’t started filming yet, but that movie looks like it’s getting released, despite the underperformance of JL.

You're not responding to the point which was, there's no reason to think these films will cause audiences to reconsider the DCEU they just abandoned.

It's not complicated. Make a good Aquaman movie, make a good Flash movie, make a good Superman movie, make a good Green Lantern movie, make another good WW movie. Then try making a good JL movie. It isn't complicated but, it isn't original either. Another company has been there and done that extremely well. Doing it again with another set of characters, no matter how well executed, just means you were second. They need to stop looking at Marvel and consider a more carefully planned approach. In the end, that may mean just making a series of disconnected films or one-off team ups that are fantastic stand along entries in an anthology type series. What does being second matter? I don't understand that mentality at all. They shouldn't make good movies for their heroes because Marvel did it first? They have beloved characters and they absolutely should make movies for them. In fact, DC's heroes were the first to be successful on the big screen so technically they're not second, right? They should maybe just just downplay the whole connected universe thing because solo movies are the foundation of that. And they need more solo movies first.

You can find discussions about the Aquaman movie too. I’ve seen discussions about how they’re going to talk underwater in the film. Again, Skrulls, Fury, Mar-Vell, Kree-Skrull War, The time period it takes place in, How Carol is going to show up in modern times and where she's been, these are all discussions being held about Marvel and the film isn't even being shot yet.
Aquaman is done filming and,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe there's a discussion about how they talk? That's it?
It's just not comparable.
Is anyone really talking about Carol that much yet, though? I know I'm not. In fact, I still don't know anything about Captain Marvel. All I know is that she's a woman and, presumably, a captain.

If they can get positive momentum going with these individual films, more audiences will be won over. It’s as simple as that. You asked how DC can recover, so I gave you an answer. By focusing on their solo movies.

By focusing on their solo movies. Ok, focusing on solo movies, and good movies is productive, I agree. The first problem is, the damage is already been done. They're in the position of having to dig themselves out of a hole. The second problem is, if they are only focusing on solo films and not crossovers, then the films aren't selling each other. Part of Marvel's success comes from the anticipation one films builds to the others.
I'm not sure this plan gets them very far at this point.

Coming in second has less impact in this context. It makes you look like a follower instead of a leader. Many people won't respond to that as they will feel it's been done before. Human's are always on the quest for the new.

Ok, I'll disagree, but more than that, i'll go ahead and bet that Captain Marvel makes significantly more at the box office, to back it up. Shall we enter a second bet sir? I'll spot you 50 million.

Human's are always on the quest for the new. I don't think that applies here. Comic movies are very popular. And while Marvel was the first to do the shared universe thing, they certainly weren't the first to make good comic movies. The idea that DC should just not adapt their heroes is a bizarre stance to take. And i I don't think people are on the quest for new, in any area of human endeavor. Everything simply repeats itself. And humans like the familiar. Its our nature.

Well they don't need signs, they need actual progress, and it's going to take them longer if they don't reboot IMO. Rebooting is a sign that they are starting with a new commitment. Staying the course means you're carrying all the bagger you've collected with you.

I'm not saying it will flop. I'm not even saying people won't be excited about it. But right now most people aren't really familiar with the character. And some don't even know she's getting a movie. That'll change when the trailer drops of course, but right now I wouldn't say she's the talk of the town
