Well, about 6-7 years ago I'd have gone with Anson Mount.
Now? Maybe Zach McGowan.

Jackman was a lucky bit of casting. He is not the character as described in the comics or the cartoons, and he is more of a romantic lead type than a tough guy, but he was above the material and it worked. Superior to any of the casting in the other MCU films. The only one who comes close is Hemsworth. Neither Evans nor Downey Jr come close to the comics depiction, especially RDJr. But my prediction is Disney picks someone not white or more emo than Jackman for their X-men. Like how they made Spider-man younger--they will make Wolverine less macho at least. If they do decide to make him tough, he will be nonwhite. Disney is so predictable you can set your watch to their SJW agenda. So how do you sleep at night knowing that those pesky sjw's are out to get you? Hahahaha.

He is great in Chaplin, In Sherlock..not so much He won a Golden Globe for Holmes, though. Golden Globes are really a joke to be honest. And no way his Sherlock is better in any shape or form than his portrayal of Chaplin. Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against Robert Downey, it's just that lately he seems to be playing himself. When he really commits he's great. Zodiac is another good example

Awards are bullshit,Johnny Depp is an example of actor whos talented has not won any. Hitchcook never won an Oscar either.

Or Kubrick, or Sergio Leone... or dozens of others that changed the way we see cinema today

Good! I don’t want him. Let’s get a better Wolverine.

In all honestly the MCU shouldnt just stick these characters into Avengers 4 because they can. If they plan to reboot X Men and Wolverine then they should let the series rest for a few years. They have more than enough characters right now. Besides there are a lot of fans like myself that love most of the previous X Men movies and aren't super keen to see a reboot.

McGowan would be great, however he has also been on Agents of SHIELD in a major role last season and I think his story wasn't totally completed ( Many speculate he'll return as MODOK basically, since they don't see any need for him in a movie).

Tell me how Chaplin is any bit similar to Tony Stark, tell me how Kirk Lazurus is any bit similar to Sherlock Holmes, tell me how Paul Avery is any bit similar to Lionel Sweeney.

Predictable perhaps but not stupid. Stupid if they think it won't turn away Middle America audiences. Maybe they dont care but if the goal is to preserve it they are failing. People will just show their kids Disney stuff from before the Eisner-Iger era.
