Little to no range? Tell me how Chaplin is any bit similar to Tony Stark, tell me how Kirk Lazurus is any bit similar to Sherlock Holmes, tell me how Paul Avery is any bit similar to Lionel Sweeney. You sound like a blind fanboy if you think he's remotely talented. Hes proof why Oscars are a joke I know right? Such a bad actor, he ruined Iron Man! Kat Denning would have done a better job as Iron Man!

BTW, Robert Downey Jr isn't stretching at all as Tony Stark. He's had that snarky attitude in movies from the start. As great and perfect as RDJ is as Iron Man, it's no acting feat like Jackman did in Logan.

Goddamn. You fanboys are childish assholes if you can't see or admire anything Jackman has brought to the character of Wolverine. Now you're getting it.

I haven’t seen Logan (or enough of Jackman’s movies to come up with some kind of opinion), but I agree with the rest of this statement. The reason that Downey is such a good fit for Iron Man is because he already had developed the “Robert Downey, Jr.” persona—the snark, the irreverence, the conceitedness eventually becoming humanity—over his career up to that point.

Downey is still just as good ac actor as Jackman. And I don't think Jackman's that good of a Wolverine, anyway.

To be honest, @weirdraptor, I don’t think I’ve seen any of the X-Men movies; if I have, it was only in part, and I don’t remember it. Which is all to say that I can’t exactly judge Jackman’s acting in any of them, while I can judge Downey’s performances in [some of] the Marvel movies. Anyhoo, none of this is to criticize Downey’s acting (I think he’s very good indeed in Iron Man), just to state that the characterization already fit with the persona. I’ve never really though that “range” is the highest criterion for an actor anyway. (I’m a great Cary Grant fan, for example, and I’ll be the first to say his range was somewhat limited—but the variations he rang on the persona, within that range, are the key.)

So how come you're defending Jackman so much?

@weirdraptor
When did I do that?
I don’t believe I’ve ever even mentioned Jackman before that last post.

@weirdraptor When did I do that? Right. Sorry. In the sea of people kissing Jackman's ass and shitting all over the MCU actors for no reason, I got it into my head that you had spoken on the former's behalf, too.
