Probably more apt on the games thread, but it works here as well...
First person to go writes a made-up title; next person has to write a brief plot synopsis based on that title, then provide another made-up title. That’ll get the creative juices flowing, folks… (And show that we can plot better than Hollywood’s doing!)

Office of Strange Science
directed by Andrew Davis written by Chris Carter
Synopsis: Apparent-CIA agents Arch Goodwin (Nathan Fillion) and Sabine Dulot (Mélanie Laurent) actually work for the top-secret Office of Strange Science, responsible for suggesting conspiracy theories (mostly involving extraterrestrials) to the media in order to distract from genuine paranormal incidents. One morning, however, the agents wake up to find that their world has changed, and Office of Strange Science is only a ‘90s paranormal television series (recently revived). Who—or what—is behind it, and can Goodwin and Dulot put the world back to normal?

Murder on the San Diego Trolley
Written and Directed by: David Fincher
Plot: A San Diego native obsessed with the Occult (James McAvoy) awakens one day to find that evil spirits are instructing him to kill specific people on a specific San Diego tram service every day. His murders progress for weeks until he himself comes under fire while on a trolley at the hand of a self-proclaimed alien-abductee (Jake Gyllenhaal) that is convinced the Occultist is a shape-shifting being from another world.
This psychotic game of cat-and-mouse is not what it seems, though.

The Bells Toll for TheeDirected by Steven Spielberg A hard-working family man and upstanding member of a small town community (Jake Gyllenhaal) has an unlikely connection to a long-unsolved homicide in which a now-former priest was a suspect. Next: Perfectly Frank Frank, played by George Clooney, is an ad Exec named Frank who is living a love triangle with his secretary and the partner of his firm. Things get a little crazy when he falls in love with both and has to choose one or something. Stupid cliché romantic comedy that I would never see.

Gardening at Night
written and directed by Ti West
The time is 1941, just on the eve of war. Pulp horror writer Mark Carroll (Chris Pine) is searching for good material for a story when he stumbles upon Larla’s Antiques, a tiny shop in Providence, Rhode Island. There, he purchases Five Unicorns and a Pearl, a masterly portrayal of obsession—with which, slowly but surely, he becomes obsessed himself. What is the secret of the book? And why does it lead to a walled garden in the center of the city, one which disappears as the sun comes up? Can Carroll and a plucky young librarian (Haley Atwell) figure it out before they, like the garden, disappear at the sunrise?

Lacardo, or—could it be?—their own memories come back to haunt them?
