Death Proof 5/10
A film where the female protagonists are just as unlikeable as the women serial killer antagonist.

True Grit. 6/10. Pretty good but I must say that this is one of the Coen’s weaker films. There’s no sense of imminent danger and because of that it can be pretty slow in a few places.

Winnie the Pooh (2011)
Sadly, yet another poor/mediocre written Pooh movie and where several of the characters and plot seemed dumbed/watered down, in certain places so much it is painful to experience. However, with a length of minimum 50-55 minutes, it still brought with it some fun here and there but still it ends up easily among the weakest of the too many films about this very popular yellow hunny loving teddy bear.
5/10

Drive 10/10. I remember enjoying it on my first watch but my appreciation for it just skyrocketed in this second viewing. I think it might be a perfect film. Art house done right. This film is very particular, uses the themes of many other films such as love, sensuality, action, friendship and puts them to the viewer in an absolutely new, unique and engaging.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 B+
DH1 was excllent, DH2 felt like painting within the lines.

John Wick A
I prefer it to JW2. JW's formula of diving head first into the concise avenging arc of dormant super action character out for justice is perfect in the first film. I do like the expanded universe of the sequel, though it does feel much less streamlined.

The Handmaiden 9/10. What a gem. One of 2016’s best. It’s also the most fucked up film I’ve ever seen, so word of warning. But this really is one of the most incredibly well crafted films I have ever seen.

A Quiet Place, 9/10. I was planning on watching The Hateful Eight today, but I had to go somewhere during the day so I wasn't able to see it. I did, however, still have time to go the cinema and watch A Quiet Place and I'm so glad I did. This movie was fantastic. The acting was great, the emotions felt real and the tension was insane. I didn't expect to say this a few years ago, but John Krasinski sure is a director to look out for, because this was one hell of a great movie.

P.S.: I also saw the Hereditary trailer before A Quiet Place at the cinema and watching that trailer on the big screen was terrifying. I can't wait to see that as well.

DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS 1962--a familiar film from books and tv watching in the 70s and 80s but hadnt seen in ages. Got curious when people said 28 Days Later had borrowed ideas from it. Can't comment on the book and how much is differs, but I see they took out one interesting subplot involving the seeing people being chained to the blind. 9/10. Love the novel, will have to check that out.
