I heard it was purely over the racism. Nah, I don't know where you got that from. It was purely because they'd set up Iron Man as being a certain type of movie, a somewhat realistic movie with an emphasis on technology and The Mandarin who has magical power rings didn't really fit in with that tone. I can understand where he was coming from I suppose. That's just on the quality of the movie, not on whether or not they had courage to make a non grounded Superhero movie. Even as far back as the original Superman movies with him flying so fast he could rotate the Earth and reverse time or the original Batman movies that had Penguins strapped with rockets that were going to kill everybody, they were as far away from grounded as they could be. Iron Man was very realistic compared to most other superhero movies that had been made. It still is really.

Also: Is basically the Mandarin. Also, if they were going for technology based villains, couldn't they change the rings to being technology based?

The Mandarin was in every version of the script for Iron Man up until ten weeks prior to shooting. Marvel had every intention of using him in the film. The character was removed because it didn't work creatively and there wasn't enough money to do CGI for ten stupid fucking rings. Kevin Feige:

Didn't they have antagonist based on the Mandarin? A group that would lead up to him? I think there was supposed to be some nod to him in the original. Then they pulled that stunt in Iron Man 3 which really backfired causing the movie to be seen as a disappointment. Them they made that short to try and save face by making out that Aldrich Killian also wasn't actually the Mandarin and that the real one was still out there. Though nothing will come of it and it was just to try and appease fans. You're both wrong. The Mandarin was in every version of the script for Iron Man up until ten weeks prior to shooting. The issue I'm referring to can after that. It was when attempting to put the character into the series following what the first movie. ""You've got to do the Mandarin. The problem with the Mandarin is that the way it's depicted in the comic books, you don't want to see that. He has 10 magical rings — that just doesn't feel right for our [franchise]. So it's either tech-based, or the rings are not really rings. But maybe with Thor and all those others, you'll introduce magic to that world and it won't seem so out of place."

We'll it makes perfect sense after the first movie because the world had already been established as grounded. There was no turning back at that point without losing credibility. Had it not been, they'd have done it.

You drink a few cups first and I'll consider it.

I am looking forward to seeing it and 'Silver and Black' but I have a bad feeling this movie is going to be watered down like the 'Spawn' and 'Faust: Love of the Damned' movies in the 90s and early 00s and I don't think we will see a real Horror superhero movie that goes all the way until the 'Razor' movie.

-Lizard -One of the best villains
Coming from a guy whos fav villian gets beat by dance moves But Ronan wasn't defeated by dance moves, he never engaged with Peter he just stood there perplexed by his behavior. Pay better attention next time, but I think you're trolling here anyway.
