After being caught in the act on TV.
Blimey. It's all going off.

Same thing happened when Saffers toured down under last, apart from the "admitting it" part. Faf was fined and nearly suspended. Having said that, this one was a lot dumber and more blatant, not to mention unnecessary.

Of course they will. Look at the whole Monkeygate Saga. Remember that total knob Himalaya ? Anyways - not the first to be found guilty of ball tampering (personally, I think it’s done virtually every innings in some way at the top level). Won’t be the last. And Michael Clarke of all people should keep his mouth firmly shut instead of espousing “Australian Values” You overwrought preening wanker....

They might as well all go out to field beaned out on methamphetamine. Everybody does it so it is OK. 'Bullshit! It is cheating. Smith and Bancroft at least shouldn't play cricket again, or at least miss a season.

So Lance Armstrong took a few drugs. false equivalence. How so? Both are against the rules of their sport. Both are cheating to gain an advantage.

Smith and Bancroft at least shouldn't play cricket again, or at least miss a season. They all tamper with the ball. Everybody. Have been for years. It’s a lot more subtle and hidden nowadays with the cameras around, but a level down (like shield and grade cricket) it’s rife. To think otherwise is naïveté in the extreme. As for the “bans” bullshit - the other captain on the other side has caught twice ball tampering, and served maybe a game suspension. Is it a good look - no. But FFS - let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Personally, I believe that those members in the leadership group of the Australian Cricket Team who conspired to cheat should be immediately dismissed. They should all be given a lifetime ban and stripped of all awards and trophies they may have received throughout their cricket careers.
Furthermore, the current Australian tour of South Africa should be immediately halted. The Australians should immediately return home and the South Africans should be awarded overall victory for all cricket matches that were to be played in all categories of cricket during the tour. And if anyone has a problem with that, you know who to blame for it...
Those cheating bastards in the Australian Cricket Team who've ruined Australia's international sporting reputation and brought the game of cricket into disrepute. Fucking scum.

Smith and Warner have been stood down. Paine will captain the remainder of this test and more than likely the next one too. No doubt Smith will have a date with the ICC review committee and I doubt it will favour him given he endorsed a younger player breaking the rules of the game.
There's two false equivalencies here: first is comparing this to doping. It is nowhere near as serious. The second is comparing using saliva from a lolly with sneaking a foreign object onto the field to scratch the ball. The first is the equivalent of going 75 in a 60 zone, everyone does it, and if you get caught, you pay your fine and move on, the second is the equivalent of doing about 90 while blowing .10. You miss matches and lose responsibilities you might have. I've spoken to a lot of FC cricketers today and that's the most accurate comparitive I could find.

That video refers to “excessive appealing” Not ball tampering. This was at the height of the “Butter doesn’t melt in India’s mouth” era - and we saw 2 of the 3 amigos who continually stirred up the trouble with their overwhelmingly biased opinions. (Gavaskar was the other one). The issue raised here has never truly been rectified, an never will be. Whenever the BCCI flexes it’s muscles, the ICC cowers in the corner.
That being said, it has SFA to do with Smith, Warner and the Aussies.

I’m surprised you haven’t advocated for Australia’s leadership group and Bancroft to be hung at dawn in Fed Square or Martin Place and Australia to be forever removed from the international sporting community......

I’m surprised you haven’t advocated for Australia’s leadership group and Bancroft to be hung at dawn in Fed Square or Martin Place and Australia to be forever removed from the international sporting community...... This isn't a game of backyard or beach cricket that we're talking about. The leadership group within the Australian Cricket Team conspired together to illegally affect the outcome of an international game of cricket. In other words, they cheated.
If you don't care about the game of cricket, that's your affair. However, I do and I believe that anyone who brings it into disrepute should be held responsible and punished. Immediate dismissal from the cricket team and a lifetime ban from playing professional cricket should suffice.
The fact that you don't seem to care about this seems to indicate that you are the one with a problem. And based upon your nonsensical rants involving public executions and permanent international sporting bans, I doubt it's the sort of problem that can be solved without psychiatric intervention.

This Oz team are dirty cheating bastards.
Last year's Ashes seriously questionable now.
Seems wrong carrying on the SA test.
The self confessed cheats didn't even want to stand down. Cricket Australia forced them to.
Sponsors already said to be considering pulling out of Oz cricket.

You can't have special pleading that my cheating isn't as bad as your cheating. That's ridiculous. You knowingly break the rules of fair competition to cheat your opponents, the fans, and people having a punt. Whether that's by doping or ball tampering is irrelevant.
