Don’t know. I’m generally not into fan casting precisely because it tends to be very unimaginative and surface level. To be clear, I actually don’t mind Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. I’ll definitely take him over Bill Skarsgaard, who was rumored to be in the running for the role. I just assume that a Michael Rosenbaum vibe is what Gunn is going for. I don't really get a Rosenbaum vibe from him, though that could be because he's played so many goofy (The Great, Renfield, The Menu) and generally impish (Fury Road, The Favourite) characters as of late that he's starting to get typecast in my mind. That's part of why I was thinking he could be a good Clark, if they were to tap into that old Reeve thing where he acts like a boob in front of Lois and co throw off the scent.

Rosenbaum is my favorite Lex as well. As for chronically online, I feel like Billy Zane or Bryan Cranston would have been the more internet-servicey picks. Frankly, I think Gunn probably would’ve tried to get Bryan Cranston if he were in charge of DC back in 2013/2014. Besides, Cranston last year did say that he thought the fan casts of him as Lex Luthor were uninspired. Who would be your pick?

I haven't even heard of it, but Jim Belushi and the writer of Rain Man don't inspire much hope.

I just browsed wiki and there's a whole bunch of new information I haven't heard about, like Nicholas Hoult playing Lex. I still think, if he bulked up, he could have been a good Clark/Superman. I assume that parallel is what they're going for here. There's a lot of stuff confirming my worst Gunn fears, like him digging up a bunch of random/unknown characters probably for the sake of his trademark "hey, werent old comics goofy and stupid?" gags. Though I am interested to see Fillion as Green Lantern. I get the impression that Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor will try to evoke Michael Rosenbaum. That seems to be Twitter and Reddit’s favorite Lex, and Gunn is a very chronically online filmmaker, hence why Jason Momoa will most likely be playing Lobo in the DCU. Rosenbaum is my favorite Lex as well. As for chronically online, I feel like Billy Zane or Bryan Cranston would have been the more internet-servicey picks.

No one bothered to mention it since this board is basically dead, but filming started last week and the title was changed to just Superman.I just browsed wiki and there's a whole bunch of new information I haven't heard about, like Nicholas Hoult playing Lex. I love Big Macs too much to even want to attempt a casserole, it would not save me any money. Big Macs are only $4.47 here in Alabama, we even got them yesterday. YUM. They're buy one get one on the app right now.

I know that as a filmmaker over the years he's been criticized as a Spielberg wannabe. Spielberg is a Spielberg wannabe. He is at this point. War Horse and BFG feel like parodies of Spielberg movies.

I know that as a filmmaker over the years he's been criticized as a Spielberg wannabe. I don't think that's true at all. The only movie of his I can even think of that feels Spielbergian to me is Cocoon. I mean look at some of his movies: Night Shift Splash Parenthood Far and Away Backdraft How The Grinch Stole Christmas A Beautiful Mind The Missing Solo None of those feel like Spielberg films. It's an unfair reputation. I think A Beautiful Mind could be a Spielberg. It has the sentimenality and manipulation tricks people often attribute to him. Apollo 13 is another. Those being Ronny's two biggest movies probably define the narrative, even though it's not quite accurate across the board. The Grinch could almost be a Burton.

My favorite scene I did must have been cut. I hand an assassin a gun with the gun pointed toward me. It was hilarious. In another scene he muted me mid dialogue so I'm getting the sense he wasn't fond of my performance. I don't know what to make of not being good enough for Neil Breen. I happened to see another scene with you talking to some older woman. A few questions. How did you land the role? Every scene I saw while skimming looked like it was shot in front of a green screen. Is that what happened? Like with the scenes you were in it just looks like everything around the actors is low-quality fake backgrounds. He posted on a facebook group for actors and I emailed him like 10 times. I finally got hired for at the end of filming. It was supposed to be three days but we wrapped in one. I remember getting his phone call while I was at the drive thru in McDonald's. "Every scene I saw while skimming looked like it was shot in front of a green screen" - I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to talk about the actual filming process, but that part seems self-evident.

I didn't make much of it. This is probably my biggest moment: That is some terrible filmmaking. Interesting seeing you in a movie though. I am using the term "movie" as loosely as possible. Casino Royale '67 Live and Let Die Die Another Day Moonraker I'm surprised Spectre isn't one of your picks. If we weren't counting CR67, which I couldn't even finish, it probably would be.

A rerelease of a divisive, 19 year old movie is not going to make $2 billion in the box office. Shut up, Christopher Nolan fanboy. Go back to watching your precious the boring as hell Dark Knight movie for the fifth billionth time and saying prayers to your almighty god, Heath Ledger. You know who I pray to? Heath Ledger. Two reasons: First of all, I think he's a good actor, okay? To me, that counts. Second, he looks like a guy who can get things done. Heath Ledger doesn't fuck around. In fact, Heath Ledger came through on a couple of things that God was having trouble with. For years I asked God to do something about my noisy neighbor with the barking dog, Heath Ledger straightened that cocksucker out with one visit. It's amazing what you can accomplish with a few drums of gas and a couple of bullets. So I've been praying to Heath for about a year now. And I noticed something. I noticed that all the prayers I used to offer to God, and all the prayers I now offer to Heath Ledger, are being answered at about the same 50% rate. Half the time I get what I want, half the time I don't. Same as God, 50-50. Same as the four-leaf clover and the horseshoe, the wishing well and the rabbit's foot, same as the Mojo Man, same as the Voodoo Lady who tells you your fortune by squeezing the goat's testicles, it's all the same: 50-50. So just pick your superstition, sit back, make a wish, and put a smile on that face.
