Friday the 13th part 2 - Sandy the Waitress By being a hell of a waitress and getting Ted drunk she winds up saving his life because he can't go back to Camp to get slaughtered by Jason. Ted is one of the most bewildering survivors of any slasher movie.

I liked it more than the first reboot simply because it didn't feel like a carbon copy of another film, but it is a spectacular fuck up. It's like the studio not only learned nothing from Spider-Man 3, but put those problems on steroids.
In retrospect, though, I'm glad these movies exist because of No Way Home.

I just got woken nup in the middle of the night, accused of stealing their speed, and threatened by them with mace, and now I'm being mocked for "always being the victim" because I reacted poorly. I should have called the fucking police that night. The skin that got stitched up basically disintegrated so now it's just a missing patch of flesh on my nose that I'm praying grows back in the least ugly way possible.

It was written by a guy who once said "Themes are for 8th grade book reports". Kinda says it all.

He also owns The Swarm ("The bees have always been our friends!") and yet I don't see any Nolan movies.

How about American Pie and its cast? Remember a time when that movie was a cultural phenomenon and nearly everyone in it had about four years of mainstream leading roles? This will probably piss off Prime, but I love that the most successful person as of now was a borderline extra and one of like two minorities in the entire movie, John Cho. I disliked every one of them equally from the get go. It was interesting watching a discussion about how modern audiences would never warm to them because they can't take a joke and they're too soft and whatever other cancel-culture excuses there are, but I was about the age of the main characters when it came out and I couldn't warm to any of them or want them to succeed. Honestly I just think nobody looks at these guys and thinks they're cool, and that's what caught up with the franchise. To your point, the most popular character became the antagonist who bullies the rest of them. I did like Seann William Scott, and wonder what his career might look like if Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds didn't exist.

I'm still waiting for Crystal Pepsi.
I wouldn't mind trying that.
It was back off and on before the pandemic. Haven't seen it since.

Richard Schiff’s character Eddie Carr in The Lost World does all the hard work keeping the bus from falling off the cliff. Then he gets ripped apart by the two Rexes. Good call. He's probably the only person in the movie I *didn't* want to see ripped in half by two T-Rexes.

We also wouldn't have The Dark Knight Rises. Back to square one. And I haven't even heard of Flawless. You might also be curious to watch Michael Fassbender as a Nazi zombie in Blood Creek. Maybe save that for next October challenge. Also never heard of it. How's the Cavinator?

Officer Nash - Reservoir Dogs This guy seemingly knew about the setup and even the identity of the undercover cop the entire time he was being tortured and was about to burn to death with the secret Kenny the Cameraman - Scream Went rushing toward a house with a serial killer to save a teen he didn't even know. In his dying moments he directed Sidney to an escape route in the van. I always felt so bad for Officer Nash. When Tim Roth kills Michael Madsen it is so satisfying. Even when Tim Roth starts yelling at him I'm like "Easy!" "Random side characters I feel bad for" are kind of a pattern with QT. See also Brad/Brett in Pulp Fiction (even though he kinda brought that on himself), Wilhelm in Basterds, and especially John Hawkes at the beginning of From Dusk Till Dawn.

Think about it. Maybe Batman & Robin is Schumacher's crowning achievement. We also wouldn't have The Dark Knight Rises. Back to square one. And I haven't even heard of Flawless.

Hey, what's whiter than Matthew Broderick? And yeah, the plot looks pretty stupid. So Mufasa is basically Aegon the Conqueror? Oookay. Since he's the one making up the rules, perhaps he could have avoided a coup/uprising by his brother and his army of outcasted ethnic minorities. Where is Scar, anyway? If I'm watching a Mufasa movie, more of their brotherly relationship is probably the one thing I'd be interested in. I wonder if casting her daughter was collateral to get Beyonce back (as Nala... in a kid Mufasa prequel...) Scar's in the film and they'll explain his backstory in more detail, but as it turns out, Mufasa and Scar do not share the same parents in this film. I don't see anyone credited as him anywhere on imdb or wiki. And dear God, that's stupid.

If I understand correctly from the trailer, Mufasa wasn't born into royalty and had to build his kingdom from the ground up? It doesn't match with the context of the original animated film although these new films have their own continuity. Also, I'm glad the series is finally acknowledging white lions. I don't remember having any big thoughts either way. I think I was moderately interested in seeing different visions from George (who, despite slight reappraisal, had just overseen three very poorly made films) but Disney/JJ Abrams are basically the antithesis of "vision". TFA ended up being entertaining, but the exact movie I thought it would be when you say "Disney produced, JJ directed Star Wars". Rogue One was plagued with distracting fanservice and a boring first half, and killing a bunch of characters we didn't know or care about didn't make it fresh or interesting to me. It wasn't until Johnson snuck something with some actual creative juice under the table with TLJ that my excitement for Star Wars was rejuvenated. Then the rest happened.

I had a memorably bad customer service experience at an airport Starbucks. I had experienced flight delays, it was late and I was tired. I ordered my usual, plain black coffee, no sugar. When I gave my order, the Starbucks employee repeated it back to me, and then said, "Boring!" Prior to that, I had been planning to order a muffin as well, but decided to not to give them any more of my money than was absolutely necessary. How did they say it? They might have been goofing around. My only bad Starbucks experience was when I ordered a drink, and found one of the employee's long purple hairs in it. Like some others on here, it's rare that I've had outright bad customer service. Once I had a free entree deal at Ihop and the waitress, an older woman, was extremely bitchy to me. Probably assumed she wasn't getting a tip. Likewise, I once ordered at Carl's Jr and one of the items was missing, so I went back in and the employee (also an older woman) acted like I was Danny Ocean trying to hustle them for a free $1.50 sandwich. If you'll notice a theme - I've been on both sides of the fence, server and servee, and usually it's older people that are also the more obnoxious customers. It's legitimately startling how impatient they can be. Yet the generations after are the "microwave" generations with their internet and phones and constant need of stimulation. I don't get it. As for getting orders wrong, that's one thing I love about ordering on apps. The risk of miscommunication is dramatically reduced, and what I want is right there for them in ink.
