Right wing; left wing; is all a state of mind. I tend to go by right and wrong. There are some things that are considered to be right wing, that I believe is righteous, & there are somethings that are considered left wing that I consider to be righteous. In regards to the Toronto papers (that's right; I live in the Greater Toronto Area; I currently reside in Mississauga, further west than Pearson Int.; originally from Thornhill), I definitely prefer the National Post & the Toronto Sun over the Toronto Star, any day. As for the Globe & Mail; very boring newspaper. There are such things as points of view, and news can be, and often is, slanted to fit those viewpoints. And the current viewpoint of rightist conservatives is to simply deny that White populations have ever harmed people of other races and cultures in any way; and that whatever was forced upon these people was ultimately good for them and nothing but beneficial in the final analysis. And their publications tend to drive home this attitude repeatedly--and often in a quite shrill manner. I prefer boring accuracy to agenda-driven conservative-panic style journalism any day of the week. My view is that the viewpoint of mainstream media, academia, corporations, leftist politicians, outspoken celebs, various activists etc is too simply deny white populations have never contributed anything that was ultimately good for society. Perhaps inherently racist and evil. The flipside is that minorities through their diversity make everything great. Perhaps almost immune from being anything such as racist or evil. When they're not contributing all that is great to society and praised to the rooftops for it, they're also portrayed as the hapless victims of white supremacy. This attitude is driven home repeatedly and often in a shrill manner.

The fact that seemingly all reviews of this book have appeared, apparently, in right-wing, conservative and Catholic-dominated outlets makes me seriously question just how objective in its fact-finding that particular tome might be. Barbara Kay, a columnist for the National Post, is Jewish, & she highly praised this book. Success Of Grave Error: Barbara KayLooks like we have a case of what we touched upon the other day with your Rebel video. The mainstream media who pushed the grave hoax has their hoax questioned by conservative media so conservative media is branded right wing so they must be biased or pushing their own fake narrative. Fact is that they pushed a lie about graves full of dead children found when they know there have been no bodies found. Hundreds of dead children when in fact all they had were ground anomalies. One heck of a leap to make. Two years and no dead bodies and the like of BBC and NY Times still have the stories up. A link was provided for Thompson Rivers University who said 215 children's bodies had been found. Sadly, at time of completing this report, this commitment was further underscored as we found ourselves with so many others mourning with our First House, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, on whose unceded land our Kamloops campus is located. Their discovery of the remains of 215 children whose lives were lost at the Kamloops Indian Residential School cast a fresh light on Canada’s treatment of Indigenous peoples. It also cast a fresh light on why we need to continue with the important work of truth and reconciliation.www.tru.ca/__shared/assets/2020_to_202154558.pdf

Despite everything in the video being true it will unfortunately be written off by many as far-right rhetoric that can't be trusted because the source is Rebel. At the same time believing the CBC who still try and push the hoax as factual.

I wonder if following an Islamic terror attack the CBC will have a couple of people on after some kind of backlash against Muslims who will justify the backlash. A Mosque burned and a Muslim business vandalized? Not good but we have to understand why they did it says someone. Islam has dome terrible things someone else explains. I don't think so or if they did the CBC reporter would immediately jump on them. I think JT said it's understandable or something.

Mean Girls is now as old in 2024 as Sixteen Candles was in 1984. I was born in 1971. 53 years prior WW1 was just winding down.

When it comes to residential schools anything, but they were all horrific hellholes staffed by evil people who abused all the native children is seen as denialism. Saying some were good some and were bad just doesn't cut it. He's probably telling the truth. People who were in orphanages or in foster care will be the same. Some had good experiences some had bad. Some foster parents are abusive but most aren't. When it comes to truth and reconciliation, they seem to want anything but truth and reconciliation. Exactly. The same thing happens in regular schools too. Some teachers are really good; others are really bad. Some kids have had great years in school; other kids have had terrible years in school. I thought this was interesting. A school "survivor" wrote a book where it seems getting cleaned up, a haircut and given food is a bad thing. The article gives some needed context. Some people think that children were taken away for years. Looks like a boarding school. You go for a term then return home and go back for the next term. So, they never really have their culture taken away it's just during the school term. Some of the children arrived at Stringer Hall in September wearing the same school clothing they wore when they went home in the spring, not having bathed or changed in two months. Some of these children had been standing in smudge fires, trying to escape the hordes of blood-sucking insects, and a number had arrived with infected bug bites on their scalps. A few children arrived with ear infections so severe that pus was running down their necks. At the beginning of the year, these children cried themselves to sleep. As you might expect, the first priority of the residential school staff, particularly the nursing sister, was to clean up the children, and treat their infections.
To put the students’ living conditions and infections into context, anyone reading this account needs to realize that it wasn’t until the early 1950s that a weekly bath with a change of clothes became the norm for most urban Canadians. For people living on farms and in small communities where water had to be hand-pumped from wells and heated on coal and wood stoves, a bath with a change of clothing was a luxury reserved for special occasions. In the North, it was even more difficult to bathe and change clothing, especially for the children who were with their parents in tents at hunting and fishing camps.
There is little doubt that the hostel children appreciated ending a busy week with a hot shower, clean pajamas, and a chance to slip between clean sheets in their very own beds, just as other Canadian children did. (pp. 281-2)www.dorchesterreview.ca/blogs/news/behind-the-orange-shirt

Yeah, that happened to my parish priest a few years ago. He spoke up about the issue of unmarked graves on the site of residential schools in his Sunday homily, & his homily got leaked online. The next thing we knew, our parish received a bomb threat; the priest received death threats; the church was vandalized with racist graffiti; finally the Archdiocese of Toronto removed the priest from our parish. Exactly. And to think of all those Christian Churches right across the country, which either got burned down; been vandalized; or even received bomb threats, etc. The whole time that was happening, all our Prime Minister would say, "It's understandable." A Church is being burnt to the ground in Canada every few weeks or one a month. Imagine if it were Mosques? The you'd see mass media global coverage and it would be talked about daily by everyone from Joe Blow in the street to Trudeau. Marches, protests, vigils etc. On top of Churches being burnt to the ground, if you throw in vandalism and threats, it could be a daily occurrence of hate crimes. The arson could be terrorism. At least 33 Canadian churches have burned to the ground since May 2021. Only 2 were accidentswww.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/church-fires-canada-1.7055838

How is it any less interesting than any other sport? If anything this is more fun due to how they make a show of it, like wrestling as a user above mentioned. Walkout music, fun crouds, funny commentating etc
Other sports involve exciting competition and athleticism. Darts and billiards/pool are similar to me in the I recognize that there's skill to it but I can't imagine how anyone finds it entertaining to watch. ... Similar for bowling, golf, and Nascar too, now that I think of it. But darts would have to be the least athletic of the games that some consider to be sports. You literally only move your hand up to the wrist. That said, I've enjoyed playing darts when I used to go to bars and had friends that played competitively. I get the fun in playing these games, but I can't fathom watching them on TV. What? Darts is full of athleticism. It's all about health, fitness, stamina etc.
