I love how it brings up the Avengers falls short when you adjust for inflation, but not that Avatar is left sucking it's own cock when you account for actual tickets sold.
Also really one doesn't say a movie getting it's 3rd release could beat out a movie that's only had one true release, it was a re-expansion not rerelease, how the fuck do you rerelease something that's still in release? Avatar took 2/3 weeks off between their first and 2nd releases hence it being a rerelease.
I mean does having a slightly different version count as a rerelease in which case that Cluedo movie had a bunch of em right out the gate right?

Poor DC-Fan is having a rough year, First, Black Panther becomes the first CBM to receive a Best Picture nomination Then, Captain Marvel reaches a $1 billion, surpassing Wonder Woman to become the highest grossing female led superhero movie Then, Endgame becomes the biggest movie in cinema history Then it looks like Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to reach $1 billion, which means Spider-Man will stay in the MCU. And you thought the DCEU was going to surpass the MCU someday. You also forgot how the MCU puts the DCEU to shame with their MULTIPLE Oscar wins, so that prized make up Oscar that Suicide Squad...excuse me the Oscar award winning Suicide Squad has can no longer be used as an accolade to hold over the MCU as now the MCU have multiple awards to taunt back with. Also, it was really Star Trek Beyond that should've won Best Makeup that year, not Suicide Squad.

it was a re-expansion not rerelease
Re-expansion and Re-release are the same thing just like Cat and Flerken are the same thing. You MCU fans are just trying to claim that it's different, but it's the same thing. It's just semantics. At the airport, you may use the Restroom before you board the flight. On the plane, it's called a Lavatory. But a Lavatory is the same thing as a Restroom. Both have a toilet and both have a sink to wash your hands. It's just semantics. Heck, you can call it the Restroom, you can call it the Lavatory, you can call it the John. But it's all the same thing. Just like how Re-expansion and Re-release are the same thing and Cat and Flerken are the same thing. It's just semantics.

No, re-expansion indicates a film still in it strong release simply opening back up in more theatres, by your logic every Oscar bit film has multiple rereleases as they usually open small, go bigger, tan maybe bigger, and bigger and bigger going from limited local release to small regional releases to wider national releases and such.
Avengers re-expanded to about 2000 theatres when it was still in over 900 that's an expansion, Avatar ended it's theatrical run after getting down to a single theatre keeping it playing for it's last week, then it went dark for several weeks and came back with a 800+ national and unknown international re-release, so Avengers expanded to over double their current distribution, Avatar however rereleased to over 800 times as many theatres nationwide.
Endgame hadn't completed it's theatrical run, Avatar had, hence re-expansion Vs. rerelease, cat vs flerken I wont bother with as you are clearly just being obtuse on purpose..cats don't have tentacles for god sake.

Today I learned:
Human/Kryptonian are the same thing. Human/Betazed are the same thing. Romuulan/Vulcan are the same thing. Human/Q are the same thing. Human/Time Lords are the same thing. Human/Ancients (Star Gate) are the same thing.
Edit: Oops almost forgot Human/Asgardians are the same thing.

This one is true though, humans and ancients are the same species at different evolutionary stages, humans being the 2nd cycle and Ancients being the original, which is why in the series humans can be forcibly advanced to the super powered Ancients stage of development.
just saying.

Including inflation its still far behind Gone With The Wind which is at $3.44 billion when you include inflation. We all know this...every time a movie reaches Number 1, people jump up and down about inflation. I'm not discounting what Gone With The Wind accomplished, but that was a different world. No streaming services where you could watch a movie on one of your non-existent devices virtually as soon as it was released in theaters, no home video, no TV. People either saw a movie in the cinema, or they didn't see it at all. Also there was virtually no competition for entertainment in 1939...it was basically movies, some radio, and watching grass grow.

True but it would be like saying Ardipithecus Ramidus and Humans are the same. We may be on the same family tree but we aren't the same.
