Many things. It addresses the difference in numbers between the troops defending Winterfell and the Army of the Dead. It discusses the lack of logic of putting all the troops defending Winterfell outside the walls of the castle. It discusses the poor use of the dragons. It discusses the poor use of weapons. It discusses the disparity between the weapons and equipment used by the troops defending Winterfell and the Army of the Dead. It discusses the poor use of the castle as an offensive and defensive weapon. Why did Winterfell just put troops on one side of the castle? Why did the Army of the Dead just attack the side with defending troops? Why not circle Winterfell and attack on all sides? You must have data restrictions preventing you from watching videos. Otherwise . . . It has nothing to do with data restriction and more to do with time. I can read faster than I can watch a video and especially if the video is saying stupid stuff like this one appears to. Again, if they don’t have numbers the analysis doesn’t matter and we know they don’t have true numbers. You must be really busy if you cannot watch a 5 minute video. So, you cannot watch a 5 minute video. But you can watch a hour and a half episode of Game of Thrones? Hmmm . . . You think the 5 minute video might be stupid. But you thought episode 3 of season 8 was smart? Hmmm . . .

I would rather waste 30 seconds of reading time than five minutes of viewing time but I’ll try to watch it and groan when I get home. I know by your synopsis it’s onky going to say the same things. The thing I don’t get about the battle complaints is what exactly are they saying would happen if the show took their advice? What was their goal which was clearly different from what the show said the goal was? To win? If so, then bwahahahahaha!!!!

No. Smart entertainment is more appreciated and enjoyed than dumb entertainment. We of course want this show to be the best it can be. So at the very least we can enjoy it more. Being extraordinarily disappointing takes away from the enjoyment.

If true I guarantee it’s on the basis of a winning strategy without any regard to a zombie attack or even numbers. There is no way to have a singular battle strategy. Any battle that has been done strictly by the book was on the basis of numbers. I am basing it on the story which is something you desperately choose to ignore for some reason. They literally said there’s no way they can win this unless they kill the NK. To have dragons out front, the army crammed in the castle, and the zombies climbing the wall would have been a greater suicide mission. The Walkers would have simply concentrated on the dragons which they could kill plus have the zombie dragon all while blitzing the wall with a zombie horde. The battle was completely and totally unwinnable even before they realized how truly Immense the army was. The video Leo the Redkeep just posted talks about numbers. Why don't you watch it? I just did, he seemed to want to be fair but made several assumptions that might have seemed reasonable but which failed to acknowledge other possibilities or downright certainties from previous shows.
The army was deployed outside Winterfell most likely to defend the gate as long as possible as we know one wounded giant can take it down, which in fact happened again later in this battle as well.
He acknowledges that normal arrows are of little value against wights but cannot understand why they're not constantly raining arrows on them, lack of many obsidian arrowheads would be the obvious answer. Having to equip an entire army with obsidian weapons from scratch, why would one-use weapons be much of a priority when you'd rather ensure everyone has an obsidian axe? A thousand archers can go through 40,000 arrows in about five minutes.
We don't know all the Dothraki died in the charge, what we know is all their magical fire went out at the same moment, which is actually more suggestive it was magically extinguished. Having all the trebuchets out front firing flaming balls before the charge suggests the plan was to break their lines with the flaming balls and the shock of the charge and get behind their lines and harry them, a better employment of light cavalry than defending a fortification where they're much less useful. The fact we know there's some Dothraki left, enough to be considered a military force, indicates this was more likely what happened than them all dying at the same moment--which wouldn't necessarily put out their flaming weapons.
The greatest danger to the defenders of Winterfell was that the Army of the Dead would just besiege, surround the castle and just wait until the defenders ran out of food. That army doesn't need food, doesn't suffer from disease nor desertion and with Winter come there's no reason to think time wasn't on their side. The defenders strategy was to prevent a siege and encourage the Night King to assault--but make damn sure that gate was as protected as well as it could be.

He has a basic understanding of medieval warfare but didn't seem to understand some of the realities of that battle and a giant-wight would have crashed his gate almost immediately.

Who's he? I presumed you were talking about the 'YouTube Battle Strategist.'

I presumed you were talking about the 'YouTube Battle Strategist.' While I do not agree with everything he said, the YouTube Battle Strategist seems to understand logic as applied to the battle between Winterfell and The Army of the Dead, better than CoolJGS. Although CoolJGS says he has some criticism of episode 3, season 8, he still seems like a fanboy who is determined to defend Game of Thrones no matter what.

Regarding this argument he's already dead, he just doesn't know it.

I have no idea how many videos Leo put up but the one I found was 30 minutes and there ain;t no way in the world I'm watching that. Plus he literally starts the video talking about medieval realism & The Art of War lol.
