And that's what pisses me off the most. The decision to revisit Dark Phoenix was driven purely by avarice and arrogance. "Oh, I know, let's make the next one a "quiet character study" --- based on the most bombastic, galaxy-spanning storyline in the history of the IP." After rewatching the movie, they technically didn’t revisit Dark Phoenix... the movie was about Jean NOT becoming Dark Phoenix again. Just like how Days of Future Past was about Raven NOT becoming Mystique. Both films basically have the same opening and closing narration about evolving beyond a destined fate.
The worse thing Jean does is accidentally kills someone and regrets that action. She never really crosses the line and goes on a dark path.
I see. I suppose I should clarify what it is I meant when I said, "revisit Dark Phoenix." I was explicitly referring to any attempt to adapt the events, scenarios, and characters depicted in Uncanny X-Men v.1 issues #129 through #138 either in part, as a whole, as a narrative framing device or in name only. Dark Phoenix represents the second time Fox Studios has attempted to adapt or integrate some of the events from the Dark Phoenix Saga (per the issues named) either loosely or in some more cohesive fashion. If indeed they "technically" didn't revisit the Dark Phoenix Saga perhaps they should have considered calling it something else.

Hopefully it will reach the 250 millions mark at the end of its run or so.

Not according to Kinberg, he says that was just the codename for the project in the story phase, which given films are often given various codenames or working titles through out their production to throw off people trying to get the scoop on a movie it makes sense.
I mean it was filmed under the working title Teen Spirit, I don't think that was ever the planned title either.

The death man really is in the details, thanks.

At $233 million now. Not very good really.
So yeah this isn't even hitting $70 million domestic. About as much as Blade made 21 years ago.

It’s alright fellas. It’s keeping with Kinberg’s intentions as a non-blockbuster .

Bad movies grossed more than that. DP is not bad, it has been butchered by the studio(s).

It's now only at $244.7 million worldwide. So there's no chance this makes $300 million now. Maybe $270 million or so.

'Dark Phoenix' deserved to gross at least 400 million dollars worldwide.
Well, its box-office outcome has been terrible, I know, but at least it outgrossed:
1- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows 2- Hulk 3- RoboCop 2014 4- Assassin's Creed 5- Alien Covenant 6- Batman and Robin 7- Ghostbusters 2016 8- The Green Hornet 9- Green Lantern 10- Jack Reacher
