There is one poster whom I definitely do NOT miss! Can't remember his handle, but whenever a celebrity passed away, he'd start a thread titled "Jack Nicholson Warned Him/Her". Some thought it was funny at first, but as time went on, those threads became more and more disgusting and disrespectful. I believe his last post was on the death of Elizabeth Taylor in 2011. I want to believe that IMDb blocked his posts as it would spammers. How about the poster that would change his name to the Ghost of or Spirit of a recently departed actor or director?

TrevorAclea - excellent and knowledgeable poster. Trevor was the bomb. I miss him sadly, wish he'd turn up here sometime. I emailed Trevor a few days ago on an old address but haven't heard back. The email didn't "bounce" so I assume it's still a valid address. Perhaps Hitchcockthelegend might know something - he was close to Trevor on the old IMDB.

Thanks for the reminder - I think I did get an email address from him circa Feb 17 but real life intervened and when real life calmed down I thought I'd left it too long to use it. I'll bite the bullet if I can dig it out. His reviews of THE CASSANDRA CROSSING and the LOST HORIZON, let alone the DEATH WISH movies, are etched on my memory.

I need to look it up, Trev had given me the address of an internet review blog he was either starting or working on, just before the old boards shut down. Being a pack rat, I should still have it. If I turn it up I'll be sure to post it here, though I'm not certain if he can be reached through it. He was a good guy, witty, vastly knowledgeable, never condescending. Didn't suffer fools, but in a very humorous way. Ignorant as I am about film, I was flattered he paid as much attention to my maunderings as he did.

Besides, isn't his handle "Ghost (Spirit) of..." some actor deceased a long time? If so, that's better than using the name of a recently passed star. Just hope I'm not giving him any ideas!

Yes I am in touch with Trevor, he has a lot on with work and like most of us these days, family strife as well! He is on good form, I'll ask him if he could pop in and see us, though I think he has left message boards behind for the immediate future.

There was someone obsessed with Jim Hutton. MrsElleryQueen I believe. I think someone up thread said she's died. believe MrsEQ is still with us, just not here; or not often anyway. Did anyone mention PapyrusBeetle? A dear woman from Austin, Texas, worked in a university library (maybe librarian, not sure). She's still a good pal of mine on-line, and I hear from her now and again. She uses her real name with me, and while she hasn't asked me to keep it secret, I'll do so out of respect for her. PB was just a tiny bit like MrsEQ in having a Hollywood male star as a kind of fetish fantasy (all in good fun). Her Jim Hutton was the redoubtable Richard Conte, whom she adored, for his looks and for his acting. A funky lady, and a doll, I truly cherish this woman's friendship.

Wonder about BigKingTut, one of the most friendly poster on CFB. BigKingTut was a favorite of mine, on the old boards. Not only was he friendly, but he also posted fun threads of his own that involved multiple questions to one theme. EX: "What was the first movie you remember seeing? How old were you? Was it on TV, or in a theater? Etc.. In addition, he became a moderator of his threads, as he responded to the first posts of all who participated ... even if it was only a "thank you," or "interesting." Many posts led to back-and-forth discussions, and involved many members. I believe that he lives/lived in St. Louis, Missouri.

His knowledge of US pop culture is so vast I was astounded to learn he's Norwegian.

Strelnikoff – he and I vied to give the first correct answer on the old I Need To Know board, then came across each other on Classic Film and Music. There was another poster on INTK named "Apostic" who was far more helpful than Strelnikoff and I could hope to be. Once I beat Apostic by a few seconds for an inquiry that turned out to be 36 Hours. Apostic graciously sent me a copy of the film. I heard he passed away a while ago. I remember Strel, didn't know him well, but I keep abreast of his postings and engaged in the occasional conversation with him. We didn't seem to be a good fit for a real friendship, albeit on-line, but I enjoyed his musings, insights and input overall.

Trevor Aclea and MaddyClassicFilms. Both were great, informative posters, as well as just being good people. I'm being redundant, but what the heck.

So many (here's a partial list).... dizexpat strelnikoff boomer baby bigkingtut jimcat amyghost maddyclassicfilms clore addison klasekfilmfan anjune cschultz gubbio josephgillis I've had the honor of forming friendships that have lasted to this day with many of the above, truly good people! Great list, Mike. I miss 'em all, too. Many registered here, never or seldom posted, and then they stupidly (IMHO) deleted old "inactive accounts", thus many are lost for good unless they re-register here. I actually miss Jimcat. Really. Amyghost is registered here but hasn't posted in quite some time (that I know of). Jessica Rabbit deserves a mention. Yet another western guy, Samoan Bob, goes way back. I'd love to see Joseph_Gillis from Dublin make a return and come here. Lucia Harper, who quit the old IMDB some years back was and is a friend of mine. Teresa, whom I e-mailed apres le deluge, has yet to respond. A sweet, sweet woman. Eliot Templeton, with whom I had a run-in or two, registered here. I haven't seen any posts by him, though. Yet another Clifton Webb name, Waldo Lydecker, whom I haven't seen for age was a very good poster. Also good, and from long ago: IAmThreadkiller. Gemini/aka Lorraine, mistress of all that is old Hollywood musical, especially light opera. Melvelvit, a man who seemed to know all the dark secrets of old Hollywood. Swift, still alive and kicking IRL but not here. Joelouischama, weird name for a fine, unweird poster. Freddy Lubin is I believe registered here, seldom (ever?) posts. Trpdean. Not registered that I know of. Eric Barker is another. LOL, I do too. We actually got along for the most part, and he was always good for some feisty contrarian chuckles.

Thanks for the memories, Amy. A poster whose name I forgot, and who yet left a strong impression on me, and I just remembered her name: Sprockets. Issues, issues, issues with her. She started out on the old IMDB a very wounded, quite radical lefitie in her political views, though less strident with time, I recall her totally despising Gone With The Wind due to its mostly sexist-racist aspects. I found her forbidding, and steered clear from her for the most part. Funny thing is, she altered her persona somewhat, and after a couple of years she made a remark about something, maybe "boards" related, that made her laugh out loud, so much so that, as had been tending to her plants or something at the time, made her gardening gloves fall off, or maybe she just fell down on them. This struck me as out of character bourgeois for Sprockets. She was American to begin with, was I believe living in or near London at the the time. I can't explain why memories like these stick with me, but this one did. We had some very interesting and memorable characters on those boards, and I miss the serendipitous eccentricity of it all!

OMG, Sprockets. Back over the net to you in thanks for the memories, Tel. I hadn't thought of her in years--I never interacted with her much, but I recall her posts, which I usually read--sometimes in agreement, sometimes with a headshake. She was a most definite character. And whatever became of Clore? We bonded somewhat during the great MrsElleryQueen War, . More so when I discovered he'd lived in Lancaster, PA for some number of years, overlapping when I'd lived there, so we had common recollection of a number of the area landmarks. He was another one with a trunkfull of formidable classic film knowledge; sadly, I know he was suffering from health issues by the time old IMDb signed off, and I fear he may no longer be with us. I know he'd begun to tire of the board scene by then however; so perhaps he just said sayonara to it all and is simply no longer posting anywhere.

The night after the 2011 World Series game six, he made a long passionate post about that exciting Cardinals come back win.
