that is pretty absurd they'd go for so much money. But the DVD set would be a good value for the money just to have the whole series.

You couldn't go wrong with a cheap blind buy for the DVD set and if you like the films enough you can buy the Blu-ray set.

Blair Witch is another I remembered. I find them all pretty meh and forgettable, but from my memory the third one from last year is probably the best, which doesn't say much.

So far, I've only seen the original Blair Witch Project and found it to be pretty solid. Not sure if I'm planning to check the two sequels anytime soon though, especially since 2 isn't even a sequel at all and betrays the spirit of the original, from what I've heard. As for the new one, maybe it has potential.

Blair Witch 2 was much more of a traditional Horror movie and has all the markings of a studio film with the MTV-style quick cuts, the Rock/Metal soundtrack, etc. depending on your tastes you may or may not like that approach.

Maybe, we'll see. I've felt a bit bored watching the first BW movie so I guess I can say that BOS: BW2 will be hopefully a more entertaining film. I'm watching Creepshow 2 now BTW, streaming it.

Cool, enjoy it I'm not exactly a fan of remakes, but I wouldn't mind seeing Blair Witch remade as I really like the lore and legend of the Blair Witch, but so far the films don't do her justice.

Watched Creepshow 2 last night and I liked it. It wasn't as good as the first mainly because there weren't enough stories, but for what they were, they are creative and memorable. I've made my favourite segment in that film and it is:
Creepshow 2 - The Raft

It's close between The Raft and The Hitchhiker for me, but I give a very slight edge to the latter. The Raft was good, bit unfortunate it isn't closer to the novel but it's understandable given the small budget and troubled production the film had.

I thought for a second that I never even knew that this was based on short stories, but then I realized that this and the original are consisted of segments based on said stories by Stephen King. And yeah I like The Hitchhiker as well. That would be 2nd for me.

Also with Creepshow 2 it was only three stories due to budget reasons, originally it was supposed to be five stories long. The Cat From Hell segment in the Tales From The Darkside movie was originally supposed to be in CS2.

I'm not so sure if I'm gonna watch the 3rd movie though, knowing how horribly bashed it gets.

The third isn't even considered canon as far as I know.

Would Jurassic Park count as Horror? I think the series is Horror-y in a way, more Sci-Fi/Adventure but there's definitely a strong Horror component. The upcoming new film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, definitely has more of a Horror vibe from what's been seen from the trailers and was even described by one of the writers as a Horror film with dinosaurs.
In any case, the original is easily the best by a landslide.

But I wouldn't exactly count that as straightup horror; more of an adventure-thriller type franchise.

I think they're more alone the lines of Sci-Fi/Adventure/Techno-Thriller with a bit of Natural Horror thrown in.

They aren't out of place in a Horrorthon for sure, I've had them in rotating during Halloween during my last couple of Halloween Horrorthons and they fit in just fine. Dinosaurs help to add some nice variety amidst the usual slashers, ghosts, demons, zombies, etc.
