It's a great series. Just a shame the fifth film wasn't a better finale :/ Deserved so much better.

I have no idea why the long gap either between 4 and 5, 18 years? Coscarelli didn't appear to be busy during those years, no reason he couldn't have made the fifth one himself long ago. It was just a disappointing misfire and unsatisfying end.

It was just a disappointing misfire and unsatisfying end. It also left off on a cliffhanger, which is evident as to how it was not the proper 'final chapter.' Even if I'm new to this series, I totally feel the disappointment that fans had to endure.

It was hard not to feel gypped and I still feel that way. 18 long years of waiting for that. How are you going to end a series like that?

Jeepers Creepers is now eligible for this with the third film from a few months back. I'm in no rush to see it as the director and his disgusting crimes make me never want to see any of his work. I saw the first two cable years ago and remember not liking either as is.

Most of the reviews for the third have been pretty negative and the consensus seems to be it's a rehash and doesn't much reveal anything about the Creeper.

It also seems like they didn't even add anything new at all, besides the truck being a Batmobile for the Creeper; bulletproof, gadgets and all. And why would they make it take place between 1 and 2? To look smart? It just raises more questions in the continuity.

I don't get that either and it makes it not a true continuation in a way. Seems like a sequel that got made for the sake of it.

I'm not even a Jeepers Creepers fan and reading the premise for it makes me feel gypped. I can only imagine how the fans have to feel.

Hatchet is another I remembered. I recently blind bought the third and fourth movies. I've only seen the first two so far. I remember finding the first one meh and thinking the second was much better. It'd be good to binge all four sometime soon. I hope 3 and 4 are as good as the second one was, at least.

Subspecies is another series I remembered. I saw the first two or so on cable a lot as a kid but not seen them since and don't think I even saw the last couple or so.

Another series I remembered and one more obscure is Xtro. I've only seen the original, it's two sequels are totally unrelated despite the title as well as having the same director back. But the original is one of the weirdest movies ever and feels like an amalgamation of every weird, nonsensical dream you've ever had in movie form. Here's a sampling of just how incredibly bizarre and WTF this movie is (fair warning these may be fairly graphic and NSFW):

I didn't see the 3rd one, but I know it was made by a new director and fans weren't especially pleased. Adam Green came back for the recent 4th movie, which eventually sets up a 5th, but after seeing it I'd rather it just ended now. It wasn't really worth watching.

I've yet to see 3 and 4, but I thought the original although it had a good concept and premise just didn't do it for me. I thought the second was much better and felt like it should've been the original. I haven't seen them in so long though, and a go through of the entire series would certainly be good.
