Of the following Horror series with at least three or more movies, which is your single favorite entry in each? Just cut and paste the list and replace with your choices and feel free to add any other series I forgot.
---
Friday The 13th Halloween A Nightmare On Elm Street Saw Scream Evil Dead Phantasm Alien Predator Hellraiser Child's Play The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Final Destination Insidious The Conjuring The Purge Paranormal Activity
---
My choices:
Friday The 13th - The Final Chapter Halloween - 1978 Original A Nightmare On Elm Street - New Nightmare Saw - Saw II Scream - Original Evil Dead - Evil Dead II Phantasm - Phantasm II Alien - Aliens Predator - Predator 2 Hellraiser - Original Child's Play - Original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 2003 Remake Final Destination - Original Insidious - Chapter 3 The Conjuring - The Conjuring 2 The Purge - Anarchy Paranormal Activity - Original
And some additionals:
Hannibal Lecter - The Silence Of The Lambs Puppet Master - Puppet Master 4 Maniac Cop - Maniac Cop 2 Romero's Living Dead - Day Of The Dead (1985) Return Of The Living Dead - Part II Poltergeist - Poltergeist II Jaws - Original Cube - Original Tremors - Original Leprechaun - Original Blade - Blade II Wishmaster - Original Warlock - Undecided between either of the first two Amityville - Only seen the original, remake and It's About Time Resident Evil - Seen the first two, need to see the rest to make fair judgment
Also should note the two Annabelle films are included with the two Conjuring films, so The Conjuring counts as a 3+ movie series.

Friday The 13th - Part III Halloween - 1978 Original A Nightmare On Elm Street - 1984 Original Saw - Original Scream - Original Evil Dead - Evil Dead II Phantasm - Yet to see! Alien - Original Predator - Original Hellraiser - Original Child's Play - Curse of Chucky The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 1974 Original Final Destination - Original Insidious - Original The Conjuring - Original (haven't seen the Annabelle sequel) The Purge - Anarchy Paranormal Activity - Original Hannibal Lecter - Only saw The Silence Of The Lambs and I love it. Don't think any of the others are as good tbh Return of the Living Dead - Only seen the original so far and liked it Poltergeist - Only seen the original and remake, but original is way better Jaws - Original Leprechaun - Leprechaun 3 Blade - Original Amityville - Only seen the original and 3-D, but the original is better of those two Resident Evil - Original (they're good fun, if you liked the first two I'd suggest you check out the others)
Added some more: Underworld - Evolution Wrong Turn - Original I Know What You Did Last Summer - Original Psycho - 1960 Original

Any chance I could throw in the Universal monster series? I was talking about them on another thread.
Frankenstein: Son of Frankenstein, 1939 (dir. Rowland V. Lee)
A bit disappointed that I’m not putting Frankenstein or Bride, both helmed by one of my favorite directors, James Whale, on here, but Son is my—er—“quirky favorite” of the series: I think it’s the eeriest of the films, with impressive sets and staging and a bravura performance from Béla Lugosi as the Monster’s “friend,” crippled and diabolical hunchback Ygor, one of Universal’s greatest character creations. And a delightful bit of Transylvaniana: “When the house is filled with dread, place the beds at head to head.” Certainly not as daring or comical as Bride or as iconic as Frankenstein, but I do think it achieves the goal of scaring an audience better than either and manages to be just as fun, at that.
Dracula: Dracula’s Daughter, 1936 (dir. Lambert Hillyer)
What a great little movie. It’s entertaining and just as evocative as its predecessor while being far better-paced. (I’m a longtime defender of the Browning Dracula—it’s far better than its oft-overpraised Spanish-language counterpart—but I’m not blind to its flaws.) Two sequences—the burning of Dracula’s corpse and Countess Zaleska’s suggestive attack on Lili—remain some of the best in all horrordom, and the climax is exciting. Excellent.
The Invisible Man: The Invisible Man, 1933 (dir. James Whale)
By far the best of the Invisible Man series, it won our poll for the best Universal horror (which surprised me!). Very entertaining, and the special effects are unrivalled even today. The best and spookiest sequences are at the inn in the beginning, but it builds to a first-class and moving climax.
The Mummy: The Mummy, 1932 (dir. Karl Freund)
Everson wrote that it’s the closest anyone ever came to making a poem out of horror, and I believe he’s right (though Dracula comes close). The only choice of the series possible to put on this list, rather than the fun-but-goofy semi-sequels (with a different mummy!). One of Karloff’s fullest performances.
Werewolf: Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, 1943 (dir. Roy William Neill)
Silly? Absolutely, but with two of the best set-pieces Universal ever did: the resurrection of wolf-man Larry Talbot from his crypt in the cemetery and the climax, with Wolfie and Frankie pummelling each other full force.

Sure, go ahead and add them. I forgot about them. Been so many years since I last saw any of the Universal Monster films.

One series I've never checked out is The Omen, which I'm definitely long overdue for as a long-time Horror fan. Same with Psycho. My exposure to both was only a little bit of Omen IV (which has a very poor reception) and of Psycho 4, which I caught on cable years ago. Between that and the Bates Motel television show which was excellent.

I did consider The Fog but as there's only two movies it's one short of the topic request. Same with Black Christmas.

Definitely a series well worth checking out if you never have, very unique series. I will eventually. I'm not sure if I should get the Blu-ray/DVD set and watch it from there (for owning purposes), or if I should just watch them online or stream it (for money purposes).

Creepshow 2 isn't as good as the first but is definitely worth a watch. I might check it out someday. I do own the original on DVD. Would only be fitting to add this one to the collection as well.

The Blu-ray set is well worth a blind buy and is loaded with hours, even days worth of special features. Creepshow 2 is worth a watch, it's a little different from the first but still entertaining. The Blu-ray released by Arrow is great, try to get the Limited Edition one if possible.

Honestly, as much as I would love to have an Arrow release, I don't have the effort to spend much money on just one movie. Besides, I'm not much of a "special features" guy myself. I only own movies to watch them. But I will get either the regular Blu-ray or the DVD from Midnight Madness. It's definitely on my "movies to watch" list. Oh, and yeah I might get the Phantasm collection. It's in a DVD collection for only $18.99! But looking at the separate releases, holy cow! What is the value of these obscure horror films that practically no one has heard of? I mean yeah, they're rare and all, but c'mon. I want to spend my money on other movies too (and possibly other things).
