They aren't out of place in a Horrorthon for sure, I've had them in rotating during Halloween during my last couple of Halloween Horrorthons and they fit in just fine. Dinosaurs help to add some nice variety amidst the usual slashers, ghosts, demons, zombies, etc. Yeah movies with dinosaurs in bloody action can be classified under the "creature feature" genre, which is basically killer animals or any other animalistic beings that violently attack human characters.

The original novel was unquestionably Horror. While the movie somewhat toned down the Horror aspects as a whole it surely didn't when it came to the dinosaur action and attacks.

Critters is another series I forgot, probably because it's been years since I last watched them. I can't remember if either the first or second was my favorite.

Saw Insidious: The Last Key last night and it's a good addition to the series but Chapter 3 is still my favorite. This one might be my second favorite though, after a rewatch or two. I've enjoyed the series so far and am down for a fifth movie.

I've enjoyed the series so far and am down for a fifth movie. Most likely I won't have the chance to see it in theatres, but I am confident the original will always be my favourite. I actually think Chapter 3 is the weakest one because if they wanted to do a prequel, why is it a different family? I mean yeah, it was when Lin Shaye met the other two ghost hunters, but that's only about it as far as prequel bits go. The rest of the movie can easily be taken as a sequel, just not the same plotline with the family of the first 2 films. Although, it does need a rewatch. I don't think it's bad at all, just kind of pointless in context.

Chapter 3 was probably a prequel so Lin/Elise could still be alive, since she was killed at the end of the original. Another reason Chapter 3 is my favorite is that The Man Who Can't Breathe is probably the scariest entity of the series, although Keyface from TLK gives him some competition for sure.

I thought she came back in the second. Then again I kind of forgot most of the events in the second one lol. Must've been in it but as a spirit in the underworld-like dimension Patrick Wilson went to.

All originals except Friday the 13th and Evil Dead. I think I’d pick Friday the 13th: Final Chapter and Army of Darkness as my favorites out of those series. Hellraiser 1 & 2 are pretty close also.
Have only seen the first installments of Insidious and The Purge and haven’t seen any of The Conjuring movies

Evil Dead 2 and 3 are both better than the original
Jeepers Creepers II was the best of the series

She comes back in the dream world or Further in the second film. Yes, that's what I thought. In future sequels set after the original she'll likely still feature this way. They can only do prequels for so long before Lin Shaye becomes too old to reprise the character again in a timeframe set before the first movie. The timeframes of 3 and 4 are too close to the original as is to allow for it, anyway.

The Omen is one I haven't seen. Probably only because I haven't seen them yet, believe it or not.

If you count King Kong and Godzilla as Horror there's tons of those for this as well. It's been ages since I last watched the older films from either. I enjoyed both the 2014 Godzilla film and last year's Kong: Skull Island, and am super-amped for the new Monster Universe those two set up.

Re-Animator is another (did I mention it before? Can't remember). Seen the first two, not the third. First was better but the second is still gory fun.
