10/10 but #9 was a guess and it's a BS question.

I like it as an old fashioned B-movie. Sort of felt like an homage to sci-fi horror films of the 60's.

It's better than most of the Steven King adaptations from that era but that isn't saying much. It's ok and has some good points like the cast and some of the atmosphere stuff. However, it is not in my top 5 werewolf movies by a long shot.

Why does the headline say reboot when they are obviously talking about a remake? I am so sick of the word reboot.

But those episodes used blackface (and whiteface) to make fun of those who wear it. Removing these episodes would be like removing TROPIC THUNDER. The people making these decisions are NOT intelligent enough to put things in context.

I don't want this to be just a glimpse at an alternate universe/glorified cameo.

Most critics and commentators hated The Thing when it came out. Now it's considered by many to be a classic. This is why I stopped caring about critics a long time ago. There are many other examples that also apply.

Seriously, what cultural depictions are they even taking about? The only negative stereotype in the movie is the white business man is a scum bag. Somehow I don't think that's the one they are referring to.

Ir's because The Last Samurai is a White Savior Film. All the Samurai needed to triumph was a white guy to lead them. Total bullshit. 1. The Samurai didn't triumph
2. He gave them info about their enemies but Cruise learned far more from the Samurai then they learned from him. He ended up totally adopting their culture.
3. The movie is mostly a diatribe against Western culture and it's impact on Japan. If this movie is racist against anyone it's White people.

It's totally stupid. Everything can be offensive to somebody. The ratings system is all they need. Are they going to put warnings on things that may offend other groups like Christians, Americans, Brits, other nationalities, veterans, police officers, men, etc, etc? And who decides what's an "outdated attitude"? This is nothing but virtue signalling and attempted thought control.
