Less than 10 years ago Barack Obama was publicly opposed to gay marriage. That did not make him a bigot nor does it make people bigots today. It is a matter of personal moral beliefs.

I'm not religious at all, but I side with him on this issue. He's a genuinely nice guy who's involved with a variety of charity work. She's a seemingly miserable human being who never smiles and only get involved with the causes that relate directly to her (like LGBT issues). She's the one who called him out out of the blue. His response has been nothing but pure class. I've been disappointed in her behavior and once considered Ellen Page above this sort of thing. But people change I suppose. Ellen Page has become one of those people who has "lost perspective" . She is so consumed with politics – and seemingly this single issue in particular – that it controls and affects her life. It's all she talks about publicly now. Look at her Twitter feed. All it is is ramblings about activism. She completely deflected defending Jussie Smollet in this editorial piece.Hello, just look at her. She's almost never seen smiling it looks haggard and worn out.People like that just become obsessed with "the cause".I just can't imagine being that into politics.

If he believes in that bullshit then he's mentally ill and needs help. Everyone associated with that church needs the proper mental health care. Easy dude. Attacking an entire religion is pretty discriminatory. I understand that we don't always agree with specific religions and their beliefs but we should still respect other people's freedom to choose their own religion. I totally respect people's freedom to choose their own religion. 100%! I promise! It's their god given and lawfully backed right.
...But they're all fucking crazy. All of them. Every single one.
Religions, ALL OF THEM, are man made institutions for societal control. Brain wash 'em when they're young, make them believe in a sky wizard, and then control them with fear.
I obey the law and am a decent moral person because its the right thing to do, not because I'm afraid of disappointing Jesus. People don't need that in their lives in order to be good and decent people. But that's just my opinion.
Chris Pratt can do whatever he wants. That's fine. I don't hang out with him. I just watch his movies... which are pretty good so far. I even liked Passengers! LOL!

Not only is his church definitely anti-gay, but it is also one of those churches that seems obsessed with being "hip" and attracting celebrities, which if I were religious would be a huge red flag for me to stay away.

According to my Google search, 84% of the human population believe in some form of religion. I'd be careful about calling 84% of the entire human population crazy.

I just agreed with you wholeheartedly on another thread, so disagreeing with you isn't "a thing", but... I must disagree with you. LOL! Yes, MOST people in the world believe and subscribe to some religion. I get that.
And at least 95% of those people were indoctrinated into those beliefs when they were children. When your mom and dad teach you something at the childhood age you just believe it. It becomes unshakeable.
My mom tried with me (I don't know why it didn't work on me. I'll have to think about that. I was more involved in Star Wars I guess. LOL!) But back to my point... When you're taught something at that early age, even if you break out of it later, you still kinda believe. I know tons of people who don't really go to church and think its all kinda silly, but even they cant really shake it off altogether. It becomes ingrained. Doesn't mean its real.
Still I do respect people's freedom to choose their own religion.

I don't think the word respect means what you think it does. I see what you mean. But seriously, people have the right to choose for themselves what they want in their lives. And I support those efforts.
I don't agree with abortion, but I agree with a woman's right to choose for herself. I don't believe in guns, but I support the right to own them. I think religion is cuckoo for cocoa puffs, but I support the right for people to decide for themselves.
I don't have to like or agree with the thing in order to support your right to those things. Its not anyone's place to tell us what to do with our lives, within certain obvious rules. For example no murder, no theft, etc.
If we were governed by a body that made all those decisions for us whether we agreed with them or not we'd be in a dictatorship. That's not America.
America is about tolerance. I may not like your religion, but I will and do tolerate it. As long as it doesn't harm people why the fuck should I care what you do?

So if you believe in respecting another person's beliefs even if you disagree with it, does that mean you also agree that it is wrong to attack someone for simply believing differently from you? Because that's pretty much what Ellen did. She didn't respect Pratt's choice and attacked him for it.

She has the right to bring it up, but she could have done it without attacking him. She could have put something out explaining her concerns about that organization.

Ok, then we have nothing to disagree on since I agree with what you said. I don't agree with everyone else's beliefs, and I think quite a number of them are silly. My main point was simply that no one should attack someone else just because of that difference in beliefs. The only exception being when you need to defend yourself or defend someone else from a direct attack.
