Well, 1984 was before everyone had cell phones so there wouldn't have been videos posted on the Internet. So for people who weren't there to see Wonder Woman in person (which would be most of the world), they probably think the stories are an urban myth. It would be like the stories of the alien crash in Roswell in 1947. Some people who were there in Roswell know what really happened, but for people who weren't there in Roswell to see it in person (which was most of the world), those are just unconfirmed stories and rumors. Also, MoS Kal-El wouldn't have arrived on Earth until after 1984. But the movie takes place in Washington, D.C. Tourists are all over the place. People did have video cameras back then. People videotaped things and sent it to the news. Hell, field reporters would be all over D.C. Especially government buildings.
Yes, but people were surprised about the super man in 2013. If there was a woman doing the same things that Superman can do back in 1984, they wouldn't immediately think that he was a threat. They'd want to know if he was connected to her. I mean, they both are wearing blue, red and yellow with very similar power set. And they both have very similar looks. They might even think that she was his mother and that's why she went away after 1984.
Depends on how many people see her in action, if most of her superhero activity is visible to a very large number of people then yeah its going to take some serious suspension of disbelief for most movie goers.

And? Captain Marvel was still a huge success. Not as much as Aquaman. And? Captain Marvel was still a hit.

And? Captain Marvel was still a hit. It also had a smaller budget of $152 million. 'Aquaman' had a budget ranging from $160 million to 200 million.

And? Captain Marvel was still a hit. Not as much as Aquaman. Ok. Well, Aquaman didn't make as much as Endgame, so...

The film also somehow managed to be more profitable than 'Aquaman'. Remember, 'Avengers: Endgame' has a budget ranging from $356 million to whopping 400 million, and it's close to beat 'Avatar' at the box office. I honestly didn't think that was possible given how long it was.

True, but even then, this film getting close to 'Avatar' is still not something that I expected to happen.

Didn’t Aquaman make more money than Captain Marvel worldwide? It's only domestic box office that's important. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

So Aquaman beat Captain Marvel by $20 million world wide. Wow that's almost 2% by my calculations (I could be wrong please check my math). What a huge victory over an almost totally unknown character.

There's some BTS stuff of her possibly running at super speed through the streets of D.C. (maybe invisible jet?). She's on a harness with her feet up like she's driving (might be testing the harness).
As you can see she is in the streets with a lot of people around in a major city. A lot of people had to have seen her.

Any chance of a real shared universe with continuity disappeared after Justice League. Every hero-series is basically standalone now.

Let's face it, most likely they won't team up anytime soon and nothing that happens in their individual films will affect the others. So basically standalone. Like pre-MCU superhero movies.

I get that. I just don’t know how exactly they’re going to address the fact that they still have Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Margot Robbie on board, while at the same time, having a completely different Batman. Hell, actors like Joel Kinnaman and Viola Davis are supposed to be returning for James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie, so it’s all just very confusing.

You can still have it all in the same universe just not acknowledging anything else. That is their approach until they want to do a crossover, whenever that happens.

But is Matt Reeves’ Batman going to be part of its own separate universe? And if so, is Matt Reeves going to introduce his own version of the Joker? That’s the main part that’s confusing about all this.
