aren't dc's comic sales doing quite well? besides they also mentioned television series. Last time I looked inside a comic book store, it was mostly adults inside. Those TV shows are hardly family friendly. which shows? the Netflix? yeah they're not, but there are also DC and Marvel based cartoons.....for kids.

I think there are more Marvel cartoons out right now, but movies are always the bigger deal, anyway, and Marvel's got them beat there, too.

It's not the truth. Most kids don't buy comic books these days, for one thing, so saying that DC comics is as readily available as Marvel's is meaningless. CaptainMissique is just trying to play the DCEU's failure. aren't dc's comic sales doing quite well? besides they also mentioned television series. You realize that is a very minor portion of the business at this point right?

Yes movies are bigger, but I think even before Batman Begins popped up the Teen Titans, Justice League animated series, etc did well and are still considered great animated series despite coming after a certain movie called "Batman and Robin" and before the Nolan films, meaning kids/tweens/teens will watch these characters even if they're not at their zenith. You can even go further back to Spiderman and the Xmen animated series, which were well respected and popular despite not having a tentpole film to catapult them.

However, I haven't exactly heard of Batman: The Animated Series, Teen Titans classic, or Justice League being rerun in a long time. What kids generally have access to right now is what's been put out on TV, Netflix, or any other venues they have available to them. Some of them will have parents who bought up or recorded those old shows, but many of them won't.

I'll have to dig a bit and see if I can't find out if modern kids are watching them or if its just adults who were kids/teens at the time.

The OP might be right. The DCEU doesn't seem to be as relevant as the MCU with the younger set. Their biggest problem has been their business model. They've only put out a couple movies in the last several years, while Marvel has put out around a dozen. Kids like to make fads out of what's new. Marvel has something new every few months. DCEU waits several years, and for some reason, disconnected their movie universe from their TV universe. Marvel is just better with at operating with how kids and teens like their stories delivered.
DC has done some things right. I hear from teen relatives that their cartoons and video games are better than Marvel's. Whatever they're doing right with them, they need to apply to the DCEU.

Netflix has (off the top of my head) JL, JLU, The Batman, Young Justice, Son of the Bat (or whatever that Damian Wayne animated movie is), Flashpoint might still be on there, JL War... As well as the CW shows seasons before the current ones. Marvel has all the Netflix shows obviously, AoS, Ultimate Spider-man, Dr. Strange, a bunch of Avengers related animated movies, Avengers series, the Hulk vs movies... Might be more, but I'm watching AoS ep from last night and don't feel like switching over to Netflix.

Parents will just have their kids watch the older, better DC films, and the Nolan trilogy.

Greatest animated series of all-time. I'd rather watch Gargoyles. I wouldn't say no to a Gargoyles marathon. It always seemed like a show that warranted a closer look to me, but I never got big time into it.

I recommend watching the episodes in order, especially after you get into Season 2. That's when they REALLY went nuts with the world building.

If so I'll add it to my list. (I'm actually in the midst of a Batman: TAS rewatch on Amazon. Just watched "Harley and Ivy," one of my favorite episodes, yesterday...)
