It's not like they have some tight continuity that's going somewhere.
They've had 3 films with the new cast, 3 films with the old cast, and now a great Deadpool film that hasn't bogged itself into the continuity with any of the rest of it.
Why don't they take all of the major stories they have left and build something out of it with various teams and solo stories rather than just randomly going along. Especially since they have all these actors nobody cares about playing key roles like Scott and Jean. That nightcrawler guys sucks too.

Because they're already developing Dark Phoenix I suppose.

Because they're already developing Dark Phoenix I suppose. It's just not exciting. The actress they have is really bad.

I think they already did? When? It's all been overlapped as far I know.

When? It's all been overlapped as far I know. I thought the films with the new cast and new timeline were meant to be reboot? It's a prequel/rebootish thing, they don't really know. That's why they brought in the old cast for DOFP. It's all a mess really. There's no definite structure.
That's why I'd rather they just flat out reboot and try to make some sense out of it, but it looks like they're going to shoot their load of remaining big storylines instead.

A reboot doesn't seem like it'd be worth the trouble at this point. The current series of movies has been going on for 17 years, so they might as well just stick with what they have. Besides, it'd be pretty difficult finding a worthy replacement for Hugh Jackman.

Besides, it'd be pretty difficult finding a worthy replacement for Hugh Jackman. The trouble I see is that it's not really going anywhere. They could have this really interesting broad story happening with different groups like X-Factor, X-Force, the X-Men of course, and several legit solo film characters, but they just don't. Every film feels like an afterthought that gets half baked.

They don't have anyone in charge of the FoX-Men movies with any real vision. The only guy they have is Singer, and he's just telling the same one story over and over.

You don't know what you are talking about. Pretty much all the X-Films are just the same one plot Singer did in X-Men back in 2000. If he had any balls he'd have gotten away from Xavier and Magneto and told more stories about the other X-Men. And don't bring up Mystique, that was solely because Jennifer Lawrence became bankable between First Class and DOFP.

And no, Xavier's presence was very much all over the first Trilogy....when they weren't making everything about Wolverine and Magneto.

The upcoming The Dark Phoenix film backs it up even more. The post was nonsense, trying to create a coherent order to things where there is no real order because there's no one with proper vision running the X-Movies. Dark Phoenix will flop, it's beyond FOX's capability to create because it's not "grounded" enough.

Half of the time it was set on earth.

Yes, I do. The FoX-Moviemakers have shown they don't care for continuity so why trust them now?
I know they won't have the balls to do the Shi'Ar stuff.
