You guys thought I was bumping this because the Lakers won the In-Season Tournament NBA Cup, didn't you? No, the final entry from 2023 is the Columbus Crew, who won their second MLS Cup of the decade by beating LAFC. For the record, I don't have a real problem with the NBA Cup (it adds a little excitement to what's normally a dead part of the NBA calendar while providing an opportunity for certain players and teams who are not yet ready to contend for a championship to get seen on a big stage and win some lesser honors - similar to domestic cup competitions in soccer) but it's certainly not a "championship" as is being tracked here.

Rigged! KC continues to climb the rankings on the back of the Chiefs. San Francisco add another respectable Super Bowl berth.

The Celtics won their 18th title; most in NBA history. In this list, however, it's Boston's first championship. Congrats to Rey Kahuka and all fans in the Boston market!

The question of whether the Florida Panthers are a Miami team is, apparently, a point of contention to some in the Sunrise area. Fortunately, I doubt any of their 50 fans are here to gripe about it.

I say it is. It's the Miami tv/media market yes? If the Angels won a WS, they'd qualify for Los Angeles imo. Simply, the Panthers would not exist in Sunrise FL without its adjacency to Miami/Ft.Lauderdale. I respect that they're not called the Miami Panthers (of Sunrise)... or worse the Sunrise Panthers of Miami. To that point, I do not think the San Jose Sharks can claim San Francisco or vice versa. Each of these are unique cases for me. The Bucs, Rays, & Lightning got it right claiming both Tampa & St. Petersburg. Bay Area Sharks?? For me, the NY Islanders are a New York City market; the NJ Devils are not. Patriots can be claimed by the Boston market, & yet I say Providence RI can share. In the end, their New England name is also the right one.

Almost as soon as I realized the World Series was being played, it's over. LA extends its lead at the top.
