Well the synopsis above pretty much gives away the worst thing about this plot. Carol’s big victory against the supreme intelligence and the Kree has already happened! Now there’s a weak villain wanting revenge. Basically they skipped the good stuff and made this an unnecessary sequel to a movie we never got. So lame.

Yeah I'm hoping that the final product won't be as predictable but unfortunately both Marvel and DC have a pretty big track record with how predictable their films get.

"The character sucks", that's what they said about Captain America when his movies were announced in 2010.
"Go back and watch the trailer for Guardians", I did. Star-Lord isn't more compelling than anyone in The Marvels.
"A Moron bumbling their way through the script", like Deadpool?
Who is 'they?' I've actually seen the Ms. Marvel show (well, as much of it as I could stand), as opposed to people criticizing an unknown quantity. If that's your opinion on Star-Lord and Deadpool, so be it. I think you're out of your mind, but hey. Judging by the trailers alone, it's clear that both Star-Lord and Deadpool are capable heroes despite their flaws. Nothing about this trailer suggests that about Ms. Marvel. She's just a dopey kid literally bouncing off of stuff throughout the trailer. If you honestly find Ms. Marvel compelling, good for you. But what makes you think I have to? Why do you think you can prove that every Marvel product is amazing? Why is it your job to defend all things Marvel to the death? For what it's worth, I hope you're right about The Marvels. I want these movies to be good. But nothing about the trailer interests me-- which is sad, considering I saw the first CM in theaters twice. "They", the doommongers who kept going after everything the MCU did for daring to not be creatively bankrupt and "grounded". Like making movies about Captain America and Thor. Cap was condemned by them as an outdated propaganda piece and that his movie would be awful jingoistic nonsense and Chris Evans would suck.
It's happening again.

We already knew she defeated the Supreme Intelligence in Guardians of the Galaxy 1, because the leader of the Kree was called the "Kree Emperor" then and not "The Intelligence". So there was no point in telling us what we already knew.

They’re still skipping over the entire centerpiece of her conflict with the Kree. My point stands, even if it went over your head.

How? The character is annoying. I didn't say anything about what she 'represents,' so have that argument with someone else.

This is basically like making a sequel to the original Star Wars that skips over the rebels defeating the empire, and instead features a new villain seeking revenge for the victory we never saw.

Someone please remind me how Monica ended up being Carol's niece? Sounds better than saying 'estranged daughter of a friend.'

Here's the synopsis: Someone please remind me how Monica ended up being Carol's niece? I call my friends kids my nieces/nephews, and my parents friends Aunt/Uncle. 🤷♂️

In Thunderball, Largo calls Domino his niece when really she is his “mistress, kept woman”. Maybe that’s what’s going on here?

Ok ok, how bout this: Carol and Maria were secretly lovers so Carol used to think of Monica as her "daughter" but because her relationship with Maria wasn't quite out in the open she just referred to Monica as her niece. Yes? No?

Yes? No? Do we get a flashback sex scene?

Yes? No? That’s actually something that crossed my mind when I watched the first movie. If I recall correctly, Monica calls her Auntie Carol.

Did they call the leader of the Kree Empire "The Supreme Intelligence" or "The Kree Emperor"? It was the second, meaning the Intelligence was gone.
They didn't want to tell another interquel after Black Widow, they want to move forward as the series should be going.
