I'm with ya on this... this might have been the best episode so far and it's not because it had sex scenes, although that did help. lol
But seriously, this was a very good episode. It might have been the first time HOTD actually felt like GoT.
And I could have sworn Milly was going to be in 6 episodes, but maybe not? I'm on the fence too as to how I feel about her leaving. The big time jump might not work. idk... I haven't read the books, so, I am going to guess when I say this, but when the time jump occurs, there will be an all out war going on between several factions.
I just wonder how much action we're going to see every week. Will it be too much or just the right amount or not enough? Either way, I think the show just got more interesting. Apparently there will be two more time jumps from episodes 5-6 (10 years) and episodes 7-8 (7 years).

damn, those are some pretty big jumps. No wonder they're going to have to use a different actress to play Rhaenyra. She looks like she's about 16 in this.
I can't think of a TV show with this huge of a time jump. Might be interesting to see if they can pull it off.

I didn't love episode 4. We start the episode with Rhae giving Daemon sexy eyes out of nowhere. Then Daemon gets the cool uncle treatment. He gives her a nice little uncle-y talk. Which by the way they go back and forth between English and High Valyrian, for no other reason than to show us the actors learned to speak a fake language? It's fucking weird and cringe. Also is she 12? Because 12 year olds think it's funny to steal something and run. I did enjoy the last 5 or 10 minutes though. Good scene with the King letting the Hand go.

This whole episode was to show how much these two have in common. They're both daring and unpredictable.
And if you watch this scene again, I don't think she steals anything, she just grabs something and throws it at Daemon. To Rhaenrya this was like tasting a bit of freedom, which she spoke of right before she did this. Her quote was "for one night, I wish to be free of the burdens of my inheritance".
They also spoke in high valryian at Dragonstone too. Again, I think this is another way of showing just how much they carry on with one another by speaking different languages.
I liked this episode because it was unpredictable, which is the classic GoT style. So far, this show has been somewhat predicable. Who would have guessed these two would end up doing anything remotely sexual?
Now, why she went back home and slept with Criston Cole is bit of a mystery. But again, probably just another one of the random acts she's becoming known for.

Well people that read the books... And I don't know if you recall but the original GoT series spoils the fate of one of the major characters in the show. I'm not saying who in case you don't remember. I think Rhaenyra always had some sort of attraction for Criston Cole since episode 1 in the tourney. And after her "encounter" with Daemon, he was right next door.

I would think a good portion of the people watching this have not read the books. So, to them it was a little surprising.
I think I know who you're talking about in regards to spoiler. We shall see how this plays out, the writers could always change a few things before its said and done. It might not follow the books/GoT plots.
Her attraction to Criston Cole hasn't been "obvious" but I suppose it's not that surprising to see her end up in bed with him when you consider how impulsive she is acting.
Again, it was her taste of freedom for one night.

Wow, he put a necklace on her but after Dragonstone, I didn't think these two were going end up having sex or almost having sex, whatever it was...
And that was another thing I liked about this episode.. did they do it or what? Rhae's pants are down in that scene and there was some thrusting but then D stops and walks off. So, guess we will have to wait and see.

I think the writers were setting up their close relationship since episode 1. He asked for her favor in the tourney, she appointed him to the Kingsguard over other more noble candidates and they even spent the night together during the Royal Hunt. Before watching the episode, I saw the preview and I thought that the big scandal was going to be between her and Criston

Yeah, all that happened but is she "attracted" to him or was this just a case of "my freedoms"?
She's had some chances to get it on with him, why do it right after nuzzling up with Daemon?
I still view it as a little bit mysterious as to why she did it with him and I guess she did it with both of them.
So, if she does get pregnant, who's the father?

Yes, it's why they have to. The story takes place over many years. It wouldn't be believable to keep the younger one throughout the whole story. We've already heard the older Rhaenyra actress at the start of the first episode (she's the voice over).

damn, those are some pretty big jumps. Yes, it's why they have to. The story takes place over many years. In the book, the Great Council takes place in 101, Viserys becomes king in 103 and the "dance of dragons" Shireen was reading about starts in 129. We saw the Great Council then the first episode continues in the 9th year of Viserys' reign, which is 112. Rhaenyra is about 14-15 then (Viserys says she's 15 in Ep. 2 six months later). Ep. 3 moves three years forward to 115, so Rhaenyra is 18 (or 17 when Viserys is drunk). There are two more time jumps coming: 10 years in Ep. 6 (to 125) and "a few years" in Ep. 8 (to 129). Rhaenyra and Alicent will be 28-32 by the second half to end of the season. They are nine years apart in the book but that was removed in the show, making Alicent younger (for the sake of baiting lesbian shippers and adding some broken teenage friendship drama).

She was still horny from her tryst with Daemon and Criston had to do. As for pregnancy, I don't think Daemon even nutted unless he's a real Quick Draw McGraw

I thought about that too, she was probably still in the mood but it was quite sudden and not very expected.
And a lot of sex scenes on TV shows and movies are very short. I still think it's a cliffhanger. Maybe we'll know for sure next episode. And will she drink the tea or not? I haven't read the books, so for me this has been the most intriguing episode so far.

It's like watching a show on fast forward. The pacing is a disaster. This show isn't getting better. It's getting worse. And now a couple actors I like are leaving. What is my motivation?

I will have to disagree. I think this was a strong episode. Viserys is becoming more likeable in my view along with the other characters.
The pacing might be somewhat questionable but I do think they're trying squeeze in as much material as they can. Which is fine with me, this way I don't feel short-changed like I did during Season 8 of GoT.
Rheanrya's situation is becoming more and more ambiguous and it's creating some very good drama and some rather mysterious situations. I'm starting to like it a lot more than I did after the first 3 episodes. However, the preview for next week looks weird.
Yep, this was Milly's last show. The time jump replacement happens next week. We'll see if they can pull this off. I can't think of any other show that has attempted this. So, I am curious to see how it plays out.

Domina has done this in its 3rd episode: changed the lead (and her husband) with a more mature looking one after a time jump. It was jarring at first, especially because the accent changed too, but forgotten within minutes. I have tried watching HotD but I really can't bring myself to want to see any more of it after the first three episodes. I was hoping for some politics but all I get is a peeping view on the fantasised psychology of two misfits and I can't be bothered. This is yet another attention calling American production with an openly feminist and minority pampering agenda, sprinkled all over with "shocking things" to get morons to react on YouTube or anywhere else.

That almost sounds like Game of Thrones. Lol... I do recall people saying something about Velaryons being of a darker skin tone. So, maybe this is "source material" at work rather than pampering to minorities. Black people with blond hair is kind of funny though. Can you imagine the outrage if it was white people with afros? Damn... it would be all over the news with people screaming "racism" and "cultural appropriation". We'd never hear the end of it. However, I will keep watching simply because the last 2 episodes have been quite good in my opinion. You might want to give ep 4 and 5 a chance.
