Caught the end of the K-State/Nova battle last night. Great finish to that one.

Caught the end of the K-State/Nova battle last night. Great finish to that one. I crashed on the couch watching UConn-UNC. Watch out where the Huskies go...
Watched Illinois-Florida Atlantic. The Illini looked decent. The B10 is kind of blah this year, they could get fat on the mediocrity. FAU, only missing one player from the Final Four team, needs better big man play. They have one big man and he was in foul trouble.

Lotsa good games on today now that CFB is mostly toast (fah on Army-Navy)
Alabama-Purdue is good. Have to admit, Zach Edey does move good for a bulky 7'4" guy. Every time I see him, I think of Georghe Muresan. He draws 234 fouls a game and he won't do that on the next level
Georgetown got slapped by Syracuse, 80-68, in DC. Are they destined to vie with DePaul for Big East doormat from now on? 5-4 but beat no one. Ranked 194th at Kenpom. They will be cannon fodder once conference play starts
#1 Arizona plays Wisconsin later

Finals week is over so the good games resume.
UConn-Gonzaga tonight
Saturday, UNC-Kentucky and maybe the top non-conference game of the year. #1 Arizona vs. #3 Purdue. Woo hoo

Hate to say it but Purdue is clearly the #1 right now. A lot more than Lurch Edey. They have beat Gonzaga, Marquette, Tennessee, Alabama and Arizona. Yeah, an OT loss to Northwestern, shit happens. The $64 Question will be, how will they do on march and what double digit seed will bounce them out of the Tournament. Virginia lost to a #16 seed in 2018 and went 35-3 the next season, winning it all.
Four undefeated teams left
Houston Oklahoma James Madison Mississippi
If you went to Vegas and made a $100 prop bet on those being the last four, you could probably buy Las Vegas

Spartans were certainly looking rickety prior to that. Although credit as always to Izzo's scheduling - - he never makes it easy for himself.

Fluke, or did Sparty finally figure it out?

Providence doing well without Cooley. Nice 15-point win versus Marquette tonight.

Providence doing well without Cooley. Nice 15-point win versus Marquette tonight. Meanwhile. Cooley is 7-5 at Georgetown. Beat nobody (4-7 Notre Dame, whee) and lost to a ghastly Holy Cross in DC. From now on, the Hoyas will play one team lower than 85 at Kenpom, DePaul, twice. Are Georgetown and Louisville destined to join UNLV and San Francisco on the scrapheap of CBB history?

The Notre Dame coach is Penn State's from last year . . . although Providence is obviously the better program than Penn State.

Wow, UConn got bitch slapped by Seton Hall last night, 75-60. Carolina thumped Oklahoma to give them their first loss. Non-conference play, at least interesting games, are over, for the most part. Arizona-Florida Atlantic seem to be the last one of note. The Big East is starting conference play already. Three undefeateds left, Houston, Ole Miss and James Madison. I'll eat my hat if the first two get to March without an "L" but the Dukes might. Other that Appalachian State (ranked 79th), JMU plays no one higher ranked at Kenpom that 155. Could the be the next team to hit the NCAA undefeated?

Watched San Diego State-Stanford tonight . . . Stanford has Adam Keefe's and Peja Stojakovic's kids on their team. SDSU went 3-0 over the Pac 12 this year. Before New Year: Aztecs at Gonzaga at McCarthy Center.

Is it just me or are the big schools really working hard to find cupcakes to blowout these days? More and more I feel I'm looking at the scores and I've never heard of some of these schools. Like even the bottom rung of the one bid conferences might pull an upset so you have to dig up Chicken Bucket Technical Community College for an easy blowout.
